  1. Big change for the north coast of devon Very hot, humid last evening and uncomfortable overnight Sunny start today, but the sea mist started to roll in, and the air feels very different Much more comfortable Sea mist has thickened up to near "pea-souper" state now, can see it swirling outside the window And, all those people were sunbathing down on the beach too. Ahhh
  2. 7pm and Chivenor is still reporting 28C Bound to drop once the sun goes down, but how warm is it going to be tonight? May as well stay up all night
  3. Chivenor at 6pm showing 30C Phew !! Saw some clouds bubbling up this afternoon, but did not lead to anything on this occasion
  4. any chance of snow? hehe wonderful cooling sea breeze up here on the north coast... and not a cloud in the sky
  5. I gotta rant. Talking about benign and uneventful weather For some parts of the world, it's bloody hurricanes, tornado's, severe thunder storms Today in the Uk, the biggest discussion is where will the cloud be breaking !! I want the traditional English summer to return. Three hots days, followed by a proper thunder breakdown I dunno why the Uk seems to have a storm shield around it these days Storms for France... they may tease the channel islands... but generally fear to float in the general direction of the Uk If they do, they fizzle out over the channel, and we get the drizzly remnants The weather needs a good kick up the I have a problem. Cya
  6. Yep, the current Uk warning for tomorrow, does mention the cold Cold enough for wet snow in some places Amazing... middle of May... to be talking about snow for southern areas
  7. Tornado smashes through Northern Italy Pretty dramatic video here http://news.sky.com/story/1087036/tornado-smashes-through-northern-italy
  8. Light snow, gone on long enough to give light dusting on grass That is down at sea level Heavier radar returns over the sea, and english channel, all going to waste over ocean
  9. Probably thinking in terms of all the holiday people, all those people piling down to the south-west with their swimming cossies, bucket & spade... ready for the beaches I caved in, took a trip to Wolverhampton last weekend. I needed another snow-fix. Hopefully for the south-west our time will come The outbound journey on Friday morning was rain North of Bristol, a pasting of white could be seen on nearby hills I was looking at car roofs on the motorway, some cars moving in opposite direction had signs of snow on their roofs White patches started to appear in the fields South of Birmingham, there was a quick transition to all white fields On to Wolverhampton, the snow was melting some... drip drip... slush The main event began around 2:15pm Friday afternoon Big 50p'er sized wet flakes for a while... the rest of the weekend was smaller but drier snow Never really stopped... various intensities It was still snowing when i left at 11:20 Sunday morning South of Birmingham, the snow cover rapidly thinned, then back to green fields Took some video, here's one
  10. Alarming rain totals progged for S/W If it had all come down as snow... A train ticket up north is very tempting, but may get stranded
  11. yer it comes... radar into far south-west those lucky **** up north they'll probably go amber alert tomorrow AM i bought a tent, ready for spring, i should bought a rowing boat
  12. Back to rain / sleet now on coast. Would suggest altitude, if you're looking for snow today Horrible outlook, looks like The Pope took Spring with him into retirement
  13. First decent one just hit Westwood Ho! - been nothing bar the odd flake, 'till now Big flakes going horizontal in the strong wind Alas, these showers are brief affairs. Some good looking skies now edit, can see next one incoming !

  15. Watch out for those snow vampires I think i've had enough beers for now Just put a quick video together, see what the early hours bring
  16. that amber warning is valid from 5 mintues past midnight (pumpkin turns into coach) (rain turns to snow) *grin* until 9am Monday morning I left westwood ho earlier in sleet have travelled to Torquay (drizzle / sleet mixture) Waves splashing over sea wall between around Dawlish (ocean looks angry) What happens next.... i dunno, but i'm opening a couple beers
  17. Blimey, Roger J Smith's post is looking less over the top, by the hour
  18. Roger. Storm? Not bad at all. Met O forecast for south west. Right through to Monday PM --- Today: Rain, heavy in places, will spread east across western parts through the day. By the afternoon, sleet or snow is likely across higher ground, particularly towards the east. Turning colder, accentuated by the strong wind. Maximum Temperature 7 °C. Tonight: Rain will readily turn to snow and will fall across many southern areas overnight, giving some accumulations. Drier elsewhere but with isolated snow showers. Bitterly cold with frost and ice. Minimum Temperature -3 °C. Monday: Snow will continue to fall across southern parts giving further accumulations before easing by the afternoon. Drier and brighter elsewhere but bitterly cold with a strong to gale force wind. Maximum Temperature 3 °C. ---
  19. Ice Threat latest forecast from Met O, for Sunday, forecasts rain, risk of rain turning to snow overnight combination of warm & wet ground, it may struggle to accumulate with projected temps, surely ice will be a threat
  20. cold spell is finished now look at tomorrow's Express https://twitter.com/...6479489/photo/1
