  1. Gloucester Miserable morning Rain Hole in shoe ! wet feet cold wind picking up reckon time for nap, may get to see sleet later
  2. Have one news reporter on north section of road, getting covered in 50p sized flakes Second reporter stands on south section in rain/sleet, as he says "well, this is no fun, i'm off for a cup o soup" I'll probably head off to any action Sunday, can only see rain here
  3. click the more details link on the weather warnings, and you get chief forecasters assessment Huge uncertainty, and warnings will get updated So, they start off covering a large area, but i expect the warning areas could shrink, as they firm up on details Would be great if they stayed like though, perhaps an amber upgrade for some
  4. Cor, blowy out there tonight, cold too Westwood Ho, lots of white foam blowing in from ocean Almost looks like huge blobs of snow flying past the lamp posts Alas, the closest Westwood Ho, will get to, snow
  5. quite a cluster of sferics for south-west ireland, heading east, if they keep going
  6. Indeed. video on this page, but you need realplayer http://www.bbc.co.uk...g_retires.shtml
  7. Up on Dartmoor today, where light snow, still falling Only thing i miss is better visibility & sunshine I sunk up to my knees in places, they done good up there
  8. Heavy snow in Oakhampton tonight White blanket, no probs settling now
  9. Most incredible today I begin morning, rain washing away overnight snowfall Climb to northern edge of dartmoor Rain turns more sleet, wet flakes mixed in One hour later, proper transition to all snow takes place Beyond that, it got heavy, it settled on wet ground, very slippery underfoot From high up, i was able to look down, through heavy falling snow, at green fields at lower altitude It was one of those days where altitude made a difference, but snow descended to lower levels as the day progresses As forecast by David Braine on spotlight Snowing heavy in Oakhampton tonight Video from earlier
  10. Oakhampton Snow last night Rain this morning Went on Dartmoor - very heavy snow, buried Return to Oakhampton, slushy mess on ground, but big flakes falling at time of posting
  11. Got lazy I have a problem up and looked outside Fresh snow in Oakhampton, and freezing under clear skies Darn typical, slept through it
  12. Has been interesting travelling about during this cold spell Some cars bombing down motorway are clear, but the occasional one will have a dump of snow on it's roof
  13. That's the awful thing, it all gets tramped on, and turned to slush before a decent cover is established When out and about, i walked for miles, and eventually found a stretch of undisturbed, untramped snow. Total bliss, with crunching sounds So, i enjoyed being the first to trample in it, and watch my footprints filling back in, right afterwards
  14. Gloucester stopped now, what a beaut day !! apart from the big lorry that launched a wad of thick brown slush over me when it went past
  15. not having much joy on virtual lamp post watch exmouth sure is windy there, something white occasionally floats by whoever is operating the camera may be drunk http://www.exmouthcam.co.uk/webcam/
  16. Snow is great, to get sunshine on it, when it freezes, so you get that 'crunch' sound when walking on it Ground was very warm after recent mild weather, as i found out in Cambridge last Monday, falling snow was great, it had a hard time staying on the ground, woke up next morning to only patches. Snowmen... were not looking too healthy, pretty much only their feet left ! Got better hopes now... colder ground means snow settles from the start. Let it begin....
  17. As for PJ party, never worn 'em, so umm yeah Rain / sleet horrible muck in north devon this morning, so bring on the proper stuff Had a shock earlier, went to met office site... red warning for Wales Crickey, Reds are not issued very often

  19. replace bucket'o drizzle with that piece of coal Get people further east to blow hard in a westerly direction, maybe blow a few flakes out this way
  20. I can backup that rockfall and landslide warning, as i went for a walk along the coast yesterday In several areas, i saw evidence of landslip on the cliff faces People must be very careful walking close to cliff edges
  21. Barnstaple now has severe flood warnings http://www.environme...west&Severity=1 live coverage now on bbc radio devon http://www.bbc.co.uk/radiodevon
