  1. the radar is a complete picture for April. someone take a screen shot for prosperity. Next winter and for winters many a year later when we all moan at the start of March winter is over this year will be quoted and re quoted.
  2. reports from the wife at home suggesting its "trying to snow". Love that phrase....anyway snizzle in April would never of thought that in the bad old days of winters past.
  3. Looking at the radar there is a large swathe of snow over the south east and london at the moment heading westwards. The east of our region could get one last wintery surprise!
  4. finally got out on the bike today cycling into the wind was chill central. getting out the wind or cycling with the wind was of course much better and reminded me that the sun is warm this time of year, just need to get rid of this ruddy wind
  5. Flipping Nora -2.9c this morning down the bottom of the garden. Enough now.......peeerlease
  6. Another frustrating day cloudy the odd glimpse of sun but its that wind its just perishing. Yet to get out on the bike don't fancy picking up a chill!
  7. yep tell me about it the runner beans almost perished in the march heat then drowned in the down pours that followed. Oh to be a gardener! Then again if weather had set patterns I guess there would not forums like this for weather debate
  8. This time last year we had everything in. Depressing to see the beds empty. Off to home park next week just to take in a stress free game following week off to st marys to see my first love the mighty saints (lucky the wife does not read this). If we are suffering with the garden veg can only wonder what the farmers are doing and wonder how bad the inevitable price rises will be. 10 days and counting until warmth?
  9. Bit mad got light snow forecast for round these parts early tomorrow according to the MO.
  10. Cloudy and colder here today. Shame got a taste of the sunshine yesterday. Try for a bikeride tomorrow me thinks. A sunday roast round the out-laws beckons!
  11. That would help getting out the wind today you really felt the warmth, so with the winds dropping it will make the place feel less cold, still not proper spring but an improvement.
  12. Ha Ha. Well today one was actually walking down the road backwards heading in my direction totally unaware that I was driving towards her. I'm sure they leave their common sense in Surrey.
  13. Yuck. Quick look at the charts seemingly shows another 10 days of cold and below average conditions. Grim. ECM out to 10 days shows the upper temps below freezing, not conducive to warm spring like weather http://images.meteociel.fr/im/7517/ECM0-240_ecr7.GIF
  14. Yep nipped in there for a pint yesterday in all that rain and wind and back down today after a decent walk. Plenty of emmits about mind. Its a road so why stand in it take a photo and then wonder why a car is honking the horn at you! Tis the season I guess. Back up over the bridge now hoping to get a decent day out on the bike tomorrow.
  15. Proper day today! Down in Coverack all day and it was spellbinding. To see big open clear skies with the sun beating down, cold in the wind but lovely and warm out of it, was fantastic I've got a taste for sunny and warmish weather now, winter gloom, cloudy, rain/sleet and the promise of snow can do one. And with the Saints winning today a perfect day has been had!
  16. Thank the lordy for that. Looks like a damp squib all round then.
  17. trying its best up Kelly bray. if this band makes it to Dartmoor and I miss out it will be typical of this winter.
  18. I concur bit sleety over the hills towards redRuth. moderate elevation away from the coast could get some wet snow surprise.
  19. currently in Cornwall around helston. heavy rain temps around 3c not sure how far the rain band is heading up. surely must be wintery if it hits bodmin
  20. Yes indeed compare the NAE to the met office chart and you'll see a slight difference....ahem
  21. tasty is that! Anyone got any data on how well NAE has performed this winter?
  22. Do not be alarmed the bright thing in the sky will not hurt us, if someone can just turn up the heat........
  23. looking at the radar wonder if I should set up camp under the lamp post. Wife thinks I'm losing the plot, no dear I lost the plot when our snow went pete tong and descended on the channel islands along with all the other near misses. Last rant of the winter......er spring I promise!
  24. Not classic if you are residing in Devon and Cornwall. Frustrating winter sums it up.
  25. yep that is a pleasing site of a band of snow (light though) sat across the west country. Not really shifting west though. Suspect if it does the moors will will put a brake on it venturing further west (IMBY) Still amazed sat here at the end of March watching snow charts.
