  1. Latest GFS shows a wet end of the week for devon and cornwall rather than a white one (apart from princetown obviously)
  2. Can't see it myself for west devon and cornwall its rain. I guess east of exmoor and dartmoor could benefit if the system heads along the channel. Suppose its really what you mean by SW....SW of glos yes but the far SW no.
  3. countryfile weather suggesting a rain fest for good friday at the moment for south and west of bristol. But often this season any advancing low pressure seems to slip beneath the cold block. Having said that i still think if the angle of the attack from the south west was perfect for us we would still get rain...3 weeks earlier might of been different mind.
  4. I for one would take the hit for a wet weekend to get to some warm and settled weather
  5. well I heard that this march is on course to being the coldest since 62.....and you all know what happened the next winter, even Torpoint got snow!!!
  6. And there is me thinking you were just a lucky bugger living in princetown. Good work lad. Everything should be questioned on both sides of any argument. I always think that even if I'm convinced on any issue I will aim to try and understand the other view.
  7. still looking..... lovely cottage but no garden out back just a yard that your neighbours walk through. Need that moss and grass out back! Weather changed now too sunny this morning the mist and low cloud followed us out the moor and now engulfs us! Bit nippy but tropical compared to those folks further north and west
  8. Beautiful spring morning here. sunny and 10c. Off to view a house on Dartmoor wish me luck.
  9. still lashing it down here, radar for Devon and Cornwall makes for grim viewing
  10. rain rain go away! Next week shaping up to being back in the freezer with leaden skys for the far SW. Anyone see any chinks in the flow showing a bit of ppn for next week.
  11. after bidding farewell to the snow hunt at least twice this winter I sniff a sniff of snow at least on the higher ground of the south west. The ECM is promising but with GFS going milder (not mild mind) nothing is certain. This time next week could be interesting........
  12. Horrendous trip up to dorchester tonight. Not sure what was worse the squally rain and wind or the erratic performance of other road users. Consensus then this rain band is sticking round tomorrow?
  13. hope it does not hit 2pm walking from worth to langton matravers around then. Is the main band coming down early morning?
  14. Cheers matey. Would love princetown the wife on the other hand.....Dousland was a good compromise just a bugger someone offered a cash buy! I suspect the air and the views up Princetown today are immense. I got Great Mis Tor set up on the MO app and looks like more snow for the high parts of the moor Sunday into Monday. Worth a walk up there I would say. Note: feeble effort to get back on topic at the end....
  15. Fair enough makes sense. Nothing worse than a quiet forum! I best put my money where my mouth is and continue to comment when its grey mild and windless in say May!
  16. Some say the sum is greater than the parts I guess! Almost brought a house in Dousland last week it fell through so my quest for living on a snowy hill continues!
  17. Lovely day here in Plymouth. As its a bit quieter what is everyone's view on the regional forum, its a great resource for now-cast situations, keeping in contact and advising people in time of dangerous weather. However could the region be split as the area is large and diverse. May be the split can be from Dorset westwards up to somerset. Sure the good folk of wiltshire Gloucestershire Hampshire and the like would like a more local space....or may be everyone likes to know what is going on.
  18. That looks like cold rain for the majority of the south west sadly
  19. Looks like the far south west will miss out on any potential proper wintery weather next week aka channel islands . Looks like the upper air will not be cold enough for some proper snow. Just wish all this uncertainty with snow can be displaced by certainty of warm weather.
  20. sadly not just heading west to. odd snow grain main pulse just into Cornwall
  21. Yep you have to laugh when even the channel islands get a pasting and you don't! Was in Wareham at the weekend (from worth matravers originally)
  22. Very true but least this episode has convinced folk that you can get decent snow in March! I for one was an unbeliever until this week.
  23. mmmm going back to marginal then.......coastal regions will read this with a heavy heart
