  1. Flipping nora got down to -4.1C last night coldest of the er winter....erm spring. Sunny here now. Biting wind.
  2. looks like dartmoor is providing plymouth with a snow shield mind
  3. sadly not that bugger has resolutely stayed in the channel all day!
  4. new thread same old rubbish for the south west. the only time in a long time that this a non margianl event and we miss out as the ppn went south!!!! Can't make it up
  5. snow grains at best on the northern edge of Plymouth. Let this episode prove the doubters that even in the south west March can be cold enough for snow.
  6. I don't rate that forecaster mind. I fear the main band of ppn is channel bound and we will miss the fun. For once the channel islands are in a good position
  7. Popped back in for one last snow rollercoaster. fantastic the more south west you are the better it seems. Driving back home from dorset today so back in time for the fun! Sure the beast is getting provisions in!
  8. Well what a couple of weeks! Snow, 60 mph winds, sun, wind the whole 9 yrds. Mind you I have just been to the west coast of scotland for the last couple weeks Mind you a fantastic weather day today on Dartmoor! Good to get up there in the sun to remind me Devon ain't half bad even compared to Scotland. Long shot for any snow IMO but with the cold weather in place any little troughs in the flow could prove interesting........
  9. hi all the winds that are progged for tomorrow are around 22 knots from the south east gusting to 33 knots. Is this wind likely to disrupt ferries to the islands on the west coast?
  10. right I am over the border and can now do some weather reports. Well Its dark and I am on a train. May be I will wait till the morning. . .
  11. just had a tremendous hail sleet ice shower in the centre of plymouth! Exciting weather!
  12. Off to the highlands tomorrow I for one am expecting a bit more of 1cm of snow............if we get there!
  13. Just had 15 minutes of snow here in Woolwell North Plymouth. Started to lay but then it stopped falling from the sky!! Elevation is key here!
  14. General model question. Whats the difference between the GFS ENS and the GFS model Reason I ask is that for next sunday I'm getting a ferry to the small isles and I would rather the top chart came to fruition!!!
  15. Good god I hope not! If it does let in come through on the 11th!!!
  16. Looks a big blow coming in from the north west. Ferries are already being cancelled for tomorrow on the west coast. Time to tie it all down I would assume.
  17. Wowser potential for a great week of cold weather. Sods law I'm up near the isle of skye mid week onwards, so will miss most of it. Remember the west coast of scotland is just as mild as devon and cornwall! MInd you the trip through the highlands could be interesting
  18. Many thanks for getting back to me! 3 out of the 4 big models show a deep level of low pressure now on the 10th. All my eggs are in the ECM basket now
  19. Quick ask of local knowledge for those on the west coast. If this verified would the smaller ferries run on such routes to The Small Isles or would this give general disruption. I know its 10 days out so can all change.Would prefer a north easterly than this!!!
  20. Love the fact you guys take it all in your stride that kind of wind down here would have the media in a complete spin. Still stay safe all. Attempting to get to Canna Sunday week so will be keeping fingers crossed and keeping tabs on the forum for a less windy spell. It can blow what it likes from 11th February!
  21. If a greenland high kicks in then the chance of cold weather from the north will certainly increase! And I feel cornwall and devon do better snow wise from weather from the north than cold weather from the east. Certainly if the pembrokeshire dangler fires up. An arctic flow from the north west equals cold and moisture. Here is hoping...
  22. That is an epic pic. I am a Worth Matraver lad and I always hoped that would happen so the bus would never get me to the school in Wareham.
  23. Colder here in Plymouth temps dropping off from 3.5 to 2.9 lets hope the trend continues.
