  1. Must be the reason why the road from dousland to the life centre is stationary! Noted the downgrade but these things change on every run. Surely the south west moors are favourable as any light ppn will just bump into the moors and hopefully hang around, heres hoping anyway
  2. lets hope it does not slide away to far west and south. With the progged low uppers for the first time this winter it would be a waist if there was no moisture around
  3. What ho! Looking good for monday all round. Was up peak hill early this morning. Hardly any snow left up there! Top up required
  4. This link would make me think we are in with a chance! http://www.weatheronline.co.uk/cgi-bin/expertcharts?LANG=en&MENU=0000000000&CONT=ukuk&MODELL=gfs&MODELLTYP=1&BASE=-&VAR=rart&HH=48&ZOOM=1&ARCHIV=0&RES=0&WMO=&PERIOD=
  5. The predicted warm up is strange as the met office website has me down for a period of heavy sleet and snow on Monday. I wonder if the web site is lagging a bit
  6. Precipitation that is heading up through Cornwall Devon is rain here at the moment. We have snow cover too. Guessing our due dew points are too high compared to last nights games. Boo.
  7. Yes we had a fair bit. 2 inches which is 2 inches more than i thought we would get. Can imagine the depth increases out to yelverton and beyond quite quickly. The snow line appears to be crownhill. In work now and the town centre is cold wet and drab
  8. Morning good news for you. I have just heard the road from yelverton to princetown is shut! Snow here in Woolwell an inch or so. Looks like the cut off for snow into plymouth is derriford. Dragging myself to work now. Still can't believe it snowed here!!
  9. Right. On the lap top now. Yes Plymouth has snow! Mind you I'm at 120 m/asl. Was sleeting but seemed to have pepped up a bit now.
  10. Unbelievable snow on the ground here. Discounted the forecast for being too southwest. Sleeping now. Sure the moor will be cut off for a bit.
  11. to much rain for me I'm off good luck everyone. I'll be on the moor in the snow come saturday!
  12. It has arrived young sir!! sleety rain and thats being kind! Temp has dropped to 4. Just have to convince the wife to move and I'll in the prince of wales belittling the lowlanders.....
  13. absolutely! think i'll book a house viewing up there soon....down to 4.1. Tis incredible the temp gradient in just a few miles. Incidentally the garden backs on to fields here and the princetown mast is shining bright. When it disappears I know you lot are in business
  14. Yep its knocking on the door step and its only 4.4 here. Looks like it will be a moor event only. Theres me hoping the bus would not run so could get out of work
  15. I think the front is coming in from the SW a bit earlier than forecast. So my hunch is that parts of the Westcountry may miss out on the snow that is currently forecast, as the precipitation moves east before the colder air moves west. Just lifted this from theweatheroutlook forum where current thoughts for devon and cornwall (excluding the moors) is not good
  16. Should think so sheepstor is 350 m asl so you would hope they get it there. Leather Tor opposite is higher still. MInd you if its obviously white out there Plymouth will decamp to the moors so get there early!
  17. Road closures could scupper my plan. Failing that I'll get to Dousland and walk up to some high moor ground from there. On another note am thinking of moving to princetown think a land rover might need to purchased if i ever got up there
  18. Does height play a hand in how marginal it can be for coastal snow? Say would 400ft like golden cap in lyme bay be partial to snow of the fact its on the coast scupper any snow opportunity?
  19. If a flake in torpoint fingers crossed up here in woolwell (north plymouth to anyone else) that it might be two flakes!
  20. Rain event for all those south and west of taunton me thinks if the front tracks west though....
  21. Standy by for the press to say that its national freeze / crisis. Well may be in London but not down here!! Lets hope for a severe change to a west track on the feature
  22. we had a peak temp of 6.6 but now dropped to 5.9c. guessing you all seen the gfs model. at the moment forecast of -12 uppers for all along the coast dorset devon and cornwall for this time next week. Can change but the potential is there for those who missed out to have a taste of the action.
