    That is a completly stupid comment with respect Dave. Snow potential for huge swathes of the UK next week is very much on.

    Its only a downgrade if you live "down south", anywhere from Stoke northwards is a significant upgrade.

    As bulish as the GFS is no warm sector will touch the UK in the reliable future, its all tracking south through Spain.

    Yes I think once we get it we'll get it good style, I'm seeing frightening comparisons to the February 6th 1996 setup.

    I would start taking notice of UKMO forecasts as of Sunday when I fully expect a warning to be issued for parts of the North West for Monday night into the early hours of Tuesday morning.

    I think in the next 7 days snow is pretty much nailed on now, how much and when is still in question however.

    Yes this is a potentially an extremely important run for people seeking proper cold, surely tonight "Pub Run" of the GFS will continue its slow backtrack to what I think is the most plausable solution.

    Don't think so mate T144 is out and -8hpa uppers progress further west across the UK.

    GFS needs to go and see a weather doctor, can't be too long surely until it backtrack's and falls into line with the other main model the ECM.

    Looks like another cracking run from the ECM tonight, clearly does not support the GFS for the Atlantic to win the battle, along with the UKMO & GEM its looking clearer that we a moving to a more prolonged cold solution.

    Yes Paul which if correct keeps the UK cold well into the latter part of next week.

    Forgey MOGREPS mate, ECM is where its at and at T96 it yet again laughs in the face of the GFS.

    December 17/18th 2010 we got lucky, will we be lucky again only time will tell one thing for sure however is its going to be mighty cold going into the start of next week, I wouldn't rule Sunday night temps of -10 out of the equation.

    I don't understand why people take the GFS as gospel, its one model for godsake, its still out on its own at the moment chill and relax!

    NOGAPS is an old computer model and is being replaced soon, in my opinion ignore, GFS still out there on its own. Something leads me to believe that some people want the GFS to prevail.

    She is one of the biggest Mild Rampers of all time, I want Ian Fergusson up here. In all seriousness though doesn't matter what she says cold and possibly sustained cold is most certainly on the way.
