  1. Wish you all the best of luck. Stay safe; just a harsh reminder of how Mother Nature can strike such a cruel blow.
  2. Pfft, lots of people contributing the economy on this thread... tanning away and getting down the pub, whilst some of us are stuck in an office!
  3. In the last couple of years, am I right in thinking the tornado season ramped up in early April. IIRC an EF5 tornado in Tuscaloosa (sp?) hit approx the second week of April 2011. I was in Georgia about that time, there was serious weather around that month.
  4. Apologies - haven't looked through the whole thread so I gather this has been answered already - with that unstable air coming up from the south, there is significant thunderstorm potential?
  5. Very little here in the last couple of hours. Snow melt mainly. Is this still due to intensify?
  6. Well the Mighty Hatters' game is still on this afternoon. I don't think it'll finish if it does start. About 3cm here with more to come later.
  7. Moderate snow falling here, nothing worse than we've already seen this winter already. Expecting it to intensify fairly rapidly throughout the day?
  8. Well I didn't expect something so severe straight after that near miss a couple of weeks ago which hit the Channel Islands. This will surely be the worst snowstorm of the winter IF it comes off. Big if, even the most nailed on events have nearly broken down at the last minute; expecting a shift slightly North.
  9. As someone said on here yesterday, wait until the forecast comes out tomorrow night.
  10. Huge flakes here in LU2 and coming down very heavy. 50p size. Got to be way up on the snow scale. Bright sunshine about 30 minutes ago, however seemed to be CBs building up in the background - thought there would be a thunderstorm.
  11. If only that system had tracked another 50-100 miles north. Places in northern France possibly getting 1ft of snow.
  12. Had the odd heavy flurry today - nothing meaningful, but that windchill was deadly today. Certainly the coldest I've been this winter. Heck on the snow days, the wind hasn't been that lively. Windchill must've been around -10 today. I've only ever been colder once, skiing up in the Pyrennes when windchill was around -15.
  13. Good evening everyone, hope all is well. Been away from posting from a couple of weeks - just caught up with the thread. All I'm going to say is WOWZA.
  14. I can vouch for the apres chase! The food in that part of the world is excellent - definitely filling!
  15. Probably going to be the last major snowfall of the winter. Going to give this winter a 7/10. Definitely better than average. Estimated cumulative snowfall of around 25cm.
  16. Am I right in thinking that this system is yet to peak?
  17. Heavy snow here and gusty winds - starting to blow the statellite dish around; noticeable on the TV.
