So the weather warnings start on bbc site (from met office), but the weather on there graphics shows sunny and one snow flake. It’s like there using two sources of information? Oh just a minute they are !
This could be a farcical situation and embarrassment for someone.

If that video verifies, there will be red (emergency) warnings across the South and Midlands.

WOW.

Look at this from around 2:10 onwards. I don't think I've ever seen anything like this in the UK.

The MetO are already suggesting possible 'Significant Snow' for next week. The MeteoGroup's BBC Weather presenters are lagging behind big time
Which is a bit of an awkward one considering they have to work with the MetO in extreme weather events...

That high pressure system is humungous - airflow up from the remotest of Siberia!

I think its fair to say that LTN Airport is now struggling, but still no official closure.
Two WZZ flights have been in a holding pattern over North Herts for around 10 circuits now.

Yh worrying that the Southern Part has turned back to rain already - lets see where the Pivot Point is, guessing Herts is JACKPOT Zone!
Or where I am here, 'at altitude'?

Has the airport closed yet?
Somehow it remains open. All credit to the snow clearing teams over there, as half of this amount would've closed the runway in previous years.
Substantial delays though.

Anyone have an updated chart of expected totals?
I'd say about 1-2 ins here so far.
-
LTN Airport seems to be open for the time being. Just looking at FR24, a W6 A320 from Cluj seems to have been in a hold for some time over Suffolk, but now routing down towards RWY 08.

So the 0530z BBC forecast completely ignoring what's going on out of the window.
Still reporting rain for the Home Counties.

I know its not completely relevant to this thread (UK bias), but I see an ESTOFEX Level 3 is presumed to be "eventual" across Germany and Central Europe...
This extended forecast was issued to highlight a risk for a possible severe weather outbreak over CNTRL Europe including tornadoes, very large hail, damaging wind gusts and excessive precipitation.
Stay safe if anyone is over there.

Reports from the Midlands is that it's snowing heavily but won't stick as the snow is too wet.
Well its certainly sticking in Luton.

Only 110,000 lightning strikes covering the whole of England, but only a 2/10?

Strong cell just passed. One particular strike probably within 1/4 of a mile definitely woke me up!
Still rolling thunder in the distance.

Fantastic light show last few minutes. Seems to have dropped in intensity and the rain has stopped.

The loaded gun has just started to fire here. Long elongated rumbles.

Quick question - is there an official designation of "hot" or "very hot"? As I guide I tend to use:
Very Cold - Minus
Cold - 0-4C.
Chilly - 5-9C
Cool - 10-14C
Mild - 15-19C
Warm - 20-24C
Very Warm - 25-29C
Hot - 30-34C
Very Hot - 35C-39C
Extremely Hot - 40C+

Keeping an eye on the cricket at the Oval and the radar - incoming in the next hour?

Something definitely building here; a bit darker and murkier to the south. Up to around 23C, 61% humidity. Sweaty.
