ok I was sceptical about being able to smell snow..... but I've just been outside, heavy snow and i smell something odd. smells like someone just lit a herbal cigarette next door? perhaps the wind is sourced from the Dam...

It will start as rain no doubt, but transition to snow wont take long imo. I'll let you know what it's like at the top of the hill as and when

Don't worry too much, a repeat of March 2018 this is not! The Amber warning probably has a lot to do with the timing of the heaviest snow coinciding with Rush Hour, so highest impacts. By Friday morning I'd be very surprised if the local authorities haven't got on top of the roads etc.
