    I'd have to disagree with that tbh. To predict a storm so far out in the range of dates provided is pretty good tbh. Fair enough, the intensity wasn't there, but the date was. I don't think that anyone who does a LRF expects to have all the details nailed on 100%, and is more of just a guideline of what is to happen.

    I love nice warm summers, and nice cold winters. As the Pit says, nothing better than waking up in a morning to a nice crispy day. I hate wind and rain though, it's depressing

    One of mine is the amount of harvestor spiders I find in my house. For the past decade There has been one or two every autumn/winter. This year however there have been loads! In the past 2 weeks I've had 5! To me that indicates something,but more wishful thinking than any truth!

    Absolutely amazing weather in Sheffield. Roads closed all over, everywhere is gridlocked, and the Winter Gardens in the SHeffield City Centre has been turned into a survival centre for stranded people) Been raining all day

    Snowing in Sheffield (Yey) up my end the roads are getting covered already.flakes aren't big, but it's just consistent snow which is making it settle. Doesn't feel overally cold though

    Indeed. The models have really been struggling. This cold spell was first hinted at by the GEM (i believe?). If it wasn't the GEM it was definately one of the smaller models that people say is 99% wrong.A lot more twists and turns I believe before the end of next week

    I thought this snow wasn't going to get north?At the minute it's snowing lightly in sheffield and had about 1cm. Is this going to get any worse as it's messing up myplans,especialy seems there's no weather warning out for us!

    Even if it does go more zonal for a bit, it'll still be fairly cool according to the ensembles

    The problem with that though TEITS is that we all know it's not as simple as that. Yes, it could benefit in the long term,but it's probably more likely that it won't knowing the UK weather. So this could actually be our only chance of getting a decent snowfall this winter...

    The 528 line isn't the only indicator of whether it'll snow or not. Theere are many factors involved. Also, the precipitation is going to be from across the UK from norfolk downwards, therefore this is not a north event at all.

    Where's WIB? I haven't seen any input from him for a while on the models The models are fascinating at the minute. It just goes to show how bad the models are when faced with a cold scenario
