  1. Just hit 26.5oC here again today! Madness! Yesterday we was predicted 19oC here as a high with heavy rain and storms, obviously that's taken longer than forecast to get here and we have had bright blue skies all morning with some high cloud drifting about, some mid-level cloud reaching up into the high cloud atm too just above me but bright blue sky around it and so just waiting for that to pass! I will put up my temperature stats in a minute date. high low 01.07.13 02.07.13 20.2 03.07.13 22.6 14.2 04.07.13 25.2 11.7 05.07.13 27.5 12.2 06.07.13 29 12.4 07.07.13 28.6 14.2 08.07.13 26 14.5 09.07.13 26.7 11.1 10.07.13 22.8 12.5 11.07.13 22.2 11.5 12.07.13 25.2 10.7 13.07.13 30 13.8 14.07.13 28.4 16.5 15.07.13 28.7 14.4 16.07.13 31.2 15.6 17.07.13 30.9 16.1 18.07.13 28.1 15.8 19.07.13 29 15.2 0.07.13 24.1 15.6 21.07.13 26.3 16 22.07.13 32.1 15.3 23.07.13 28.9 19.4 24.07.13 28 15.8 25.07.13 26 16.8 26.07.13 28.4 27.07.13 13.5
  2. I apparently reached 28.4oC here yesterday and 26.0oC the day before.. It did reach 27.9oC in Gravesend yesterday but I think it was more like 26oC here but oh well.. Still was very warm and sunny! Had a BBQ and then went camping
  3. Reached 26.0oC here today making this the 17th day this month above 26oC! That's a lot of beautiful weather!
  4. The main thing I want from summer is tanning, I would like DEEP dark blue skies, no polution at all and as clear as the sky can be here with a UV index high of around 8, around 18-25oC with a cool light breeze and then temperatures holding up to around 20oC until about 11pm then a quick decrease to around 10oC or lower overnight... if we had a week of this weather then I would be the happiest person I think! Comfortable for tanning and sleeping, UV high enough to really get a tan and with the continual breeze just to stop you from sweating... Perfect!
  5. Met office: High temperatures in July. The United Kingdom saw a prolonged period of high temperatures between Saturday 6 July and Thursday 24 July. A maximum temperature of 28 C or more was recorded at one or more location on each of those 19 days. The last time the UK saw such a long period of hot weather was August 1997 which also had a 19 day run of high temperatures. Temperatures are not expected to reach 28 C today. Issued at 1032 on Thu 25 Jul 2013.
  6. Oh and we've now had: 16 days above 26oC 12 days above 28oC and 04 days above 30oC! Average high up to the 24th was 27.03oC, average low is 14.4oC and that brings an average of 20.01oC for the month so far! Anaerage high above 27oC is just mad! I just hope that it stays warm enough to make the average high for the month above 26oC as my bench mark for a very warm day is 26oC because I have a weather station which has this boy on it and when it gets above 26oC the clothes change from a t-shirt and trousers to short shorts, a deck chair and a beach ball haha, sad I know! Haha
  7. Really wouldn't call this a breakdown! I mean, it actually reached 28.0oC here yesterday with mostly sunny skies all day! It was luck more than anything as there was a lot of high and low cloud around, especially in the morning but we seemed to get all of the breaks in the cloud! We was all sitting outside all day too and what I thought was a couple of hours of sun was actually around 5 hours and so I went much browner and even slightly redderned my chest and I haven't burnt this whole hot spell but that's mostly because it was just TOO hot to sit in, lows of between 16oC and 19oC also is well above average and so how they call this a breakdown I don't know, it's just a little bit more unsettled, last night we had 5.2mm and we had a couple of storm the other night but still only 2.4mm come out of them and so this whole month we have only had 7.6mm of rain which I think is pretty good! Last night it got down to 16.8oC and now up to 20.8oC, wouldn't be suprised to see 26oC here again today if this low cloud hurry's up and goes!
  8. 19.0oC is the highest min I have ever recorded here on the 2nd of July 2009!, we are forecast a low of 20oC here so looks pretty possible although it's usually a bit lower here during these spells than forecast, if we DO stay above 19oC then that's the highest and lowest temperatures I've recorded here beaten in the last 5 years!
  9. Wow! What a scorcher! at 5.17pm it hit 32.1oC which just beats my 31.9oC record in June 2011! The humidity actually wasn't as bad as I was expecting either but I was on a field all afternoon near a lake which I assume brought the humidity up because it felt SO MUCH more humid and hot when I was there to when we went onto the road, walked home at 10pm and it was still 24oC and really was hot but very nice to be able to walk home so late in such nice temperatures, I really can't deal with the heat just due to sweating but other than that, I have thoroughly enjoyed the day! It's still 23.3oC now at 11:30pm... Next week is still looking warm and above 26oC most days with some sun around and possibly temperatures really rising back up to 30oC at the weekend! If we only get storms here and there and quite a lot of sun around with the high humidity then I don't even really want to call it a break down, if we had next week during a normal year or like last year then we would be calling it the "very warm and summery spell" I bet! haha Amazing summer so far!
  10. Was just about to say that the BBC has just said 33.3oC reached in a couple of places, still below 30oC here at 29.8oC :/ Think my high will be at around 5 ish though
  11. Well we certainly didn't have a ny rain here last night! And crystal clear skies here atm, only 27.4oC here though! Hope it continues to rise quickly and we get no cloud till 5ish!
  12. It always interests me how parts of scotland can be hitting 30oC and yet some of the valleys still having lying snow, just seems mad, sitting here down south in temperatures of 34oC today also makes it just feel unbelievable that anywhere in the UK can have snow still... of course that's just my ignorance aha
  13. Temperatures are going up very quickly considering a low of 16.4oC at half 8! 10:00am - 21oC 10:30am - 22.3oC 11:00pm - 23.3oC 11:30am - 24.0oC 12:00pm - 25.5oC Sitting in the garden now and it just feels sooo humid, nice breeze though and pretty clear blue skies which is really nice to see compared to the foggy hazy conditions
  14. at half past 10 it was 22.3oC and at 10.59pm and 50 seconds it hit 23.3oC EXACTLY a degree every half an hour! humidity 75% Temperature: 23.5oC oC left till target high: 8.5oC Could easily see it hitting 32oC here now!
  15. I can now see how we could reach the dissying heights of 32/33oC, at 10am it was 21oC, it is now 22.4oC, thats a degree and a half every half an hour, if it continues at this rate then we could be talking 33oC by 2pm! That's if the skies stay raltively sunny although hazy with no low cloud which is unlikely
  16. Current watch level: Level 3 - Heatwave Action in one or more regions of England and Wales Issued at: Monday 22 July 2013 at 08:46 There is a 90 % probability of heatwave conditions between 0900 on Monday and 2100 on Tuesday in parts of England. East of England, Southeast England and London are expected to exceed thresholds today and overnight. Regional breakdown Region Risk Comments North East England 20% - North West England 70% A risk of meeting thresholds today. Yorkshire & the Humber 60% A risk of meeting thresholds today. East Midlands 70% A risk of meeting thresholds today. West Midlands 70% A risk of meeting thresholds today. East of England 90% Thresholds expected to be exceeded today. South East England 90% Thresholds expected to be exceeded today. London 90% Thresholds expected to be exceeded today. South West England 70% A risk of meeting thresholds today. Wales This is the first time in this whole hot spell that we (East of England) has come under the level 3 heatwave warning, which sounds silly considering we've already had 3 days above 30oC this year!
  17. Very hard to imagine it being the forecast 32oC later when it's only 19oC now and the HAZY sun has been shinning for an hour or so now, will just have to wait and see but I wonder if we will beat the 31.2oC high we've had so far in this hot spell! If we hit 32oC then great, if we hit 33oC I will be extremely happy but I just can't see it even getting above 30oC at the minute, this sun really needs to get going, and fast! Temperature: 19.2oC oC left till target high: 12.2oC
  18. Met office are going for lows of 18oC overnight in the South East and also 34oC somewhere! Very hot and humid on Monday. Risk thunderstorms later. This Evening and Tonight:A sultry and uncomfortable night to sleep in the towns and cities. It will be a little cooler in the countryside and near to the coast. Minimum temperature 18 °C. Monday:A very hot and humid day with long sunny spells. It will start to feel very uncomfortable as temperatures soar during the afternoon, which may spark off the odd thunderstorm. Maximum temperature 34 °C.
  19. I know, it's still 21.3oC now and it actually went down to 19oC earlier, went back up to 22oC and now dropping again, the heat relaly must be being pumped up, 74% humidity too! But well I LOVE a tan and I really do enjoy sunbathing but is sooo sweaty, we will have our 6 foot wide by 3 foot deep pool out for my 3 year old brother so shall be in that with him most of the day, PLEASE don't use sunbeds, they use more UVA rays than UVB rays and the UVA goes right through to the deeper layers of your skin, that can cause a much higher risk of cancer and if that doesn't put you off then it makes you look SO MUCH older and your skin looses it's elastin and makes your skin perminantly red! :/ Cant wait to see the statistics tomorrow though!
  20. I would actually class myself as a tanarexic and I havent even been able to go out and sunbathe much all lst week because I found it too hot! Friday really was the day for tanning here! We had NO haze, crystal clear skies, low humidity, a breeze and a "dry" high of 28oC and so really went brown whilst tanning from 8am to 5pm ahah, would have been prefect here today too after the cloud broke around 2pm but I was at work till half 4 so didn't have time but still reached a very respectable 26.3oC here considering it was dark grey clouds till 2pm when suddenly all the cloud cleared and left us with wall to wall dark blue skies! Bring on the sun and 31-33oC forecast for here for tomorrow! Shall be a bit too toasty to be sitting in the sun for long though I suppose! Humidity + 31oC = SWEAT!
  21. My average high this month so far is 26.6oC! 26oC to me is when the little man on one of my weather stations changes his clothes from t-shirt and trousers to short shorts ahah, so to me, if it hits 26oC then I class THAT as very warm and a delightful spell of weather, to get that average over a 19 day period has NEVER happened in the 5 years I've been recording the weather, at the most then I would say around 10 days
  22. High of 28.1oC here under crystal clear blue skies although a perfectly cool breeze blowing just to temper the otherwise stifling temperatures, it also gave a bit of air circulation at school which helped A BIT, still 20.6oC here and 27.2oC in my room, it always seems to be between 27oC and 29oC here atm, especially this time of night! in the morning it drops to around 26.5oC but then shoots back up and was as high as 32oC the other day in here, WAY to hot to sleep Gorgeous day on the cards for tomorrow and if the breeze stays then I could actually start tanning again, I'm very dark but havent been able to do my sun worshipping as usual because it is just far too hot! Could today though in the right exposed windy areas of the garden
  23. Ooooo! Think we should all make a guess! I'm going for 34.2oC although I hope higher! It is of course at the hottest time now, and even more so next week and so if the cloud stays away then 34oC definately if not 35oC! With considerable cloudiness and storms mid day then 30-32oC
  24. Yeah I agree that we will see the highest temperatures just before the break down as we drag in the heat from the south with the low pressure to the west and high to the east but then I would like there to be a week or so where it cools down and we have a bit of rain at the beginning of August just to get everyone cooler and farmers happier before then high pressure rising again around the 10th of August and staying till the end of the summer holidays! Or, you know, it could just stay like this! I wont be complaining... much... haha
