  1. A dry day here in Leeds so far as most of the rain appears to be tracking North over the Western half of the UK with some places no doubt having a terrible day. Looks like we may get some this evening though.
  2. The day dawned mostly clear after an overnight low of 6.8c (much lower then was forecast). It soon became overcast though and we are now awaiting the impending rain however looking at its movement on rain today we may miss most of it for a change.
  3. A clear start to the day after some overnight rain and a low of 7.1c. Some good spells of sunshine to begin but then it was back to normal service with it being almost overcast by 10.30am. It then remained mostly cloudy (despite the forecast again!) but dry in a light westerly with a high of 12.5c. The cloud is beginning to break up now though (typical!) allowing some pleasant evening sun to peep through.
  4. The day dawned sunny, clear and cool after an overnight low of 5.6c. Currently partly cloudy and 10.7c in heavy showers. Funny thing is, i watched 3 separate forecasts this morning and they all promised a dry and sunny day.
  5. An afternoon of sunny spells gave way to heavy showers around 5pm which continued on and off until around 7pm when we had a very heavy downpour lasting nearly an hour. It was running down the street like a river. It's just started to rain again here again as well and looking at 'rain today' there's a lot more to come tonight.
  6. The sunny spells didn't last unfortunately and its now mostly overcast with light rain and a moderate westerly. Not at all what was forecast (again!).
  7. Early rain around dawn has now given way to mostly clear skies with sunny spells. Overnight low was 7.9c in a light SWesterly.
  8. After a damp start things improved and it's been a bright dry morning with a few sunny spells and a light westerly. However it's now overcast and raining, 12c in a moderate westerly. UKMO please take note, its raining so you can change your forecast from wet to dry!
  9. Close on 48hrs continuous rain here now. Today would be a poor day in December! Some very low temps around with only 8.6c at Bingley and just 7.5c at Fylingdales. One of the coldest September days on record??
  10. Still raining here this morning and has been relentless for over 40hrs now.
  11. Moderate to heavy rain all day and its been raining continuous for over 24hrs now. A max of 10.9c today in a moderate north easterly. Local rail services affected due to flooding on the line (makes a change from leaves!)
  12. The BBC national weather forecast this morning warned that heavy rain in the SE of England on Sunday may affect some outdoor activities. I've never heard that before on the national weather when a washout has been forecast in other parts of the country (like it has so many times this year).
  13. Heavy overnight rain with a low of 7.8c has let to a foul January type morning with minor flooding on some local roads. Currently overcast and grey with light rain and a light north easterly.
  14. Sunshine and showers to start the day followed by a mostly sunny morning. However cloud gradually built up and since lunchtime it has been overcast with the odd light shower. 16c in a moderate westerly.
  15. A mostly clear start with some sunny spells after heavy overnight wind and rain with a low of 12.4c. However it is now currently overcast with heavy blustery showers, looks like we're going to have another completely different day again from the one that was forecast last night.
  16. A dry morning after heavy overnight rain and a low of 8.4c. It started raining at approx 11am, light and patchy at first but progressively heavier and has been very heavy for the last hour or so. Temp is currently 14.4c. A depressing day that was not forecast just 24hrs ago by the UKMO. How do they get away with it?
  17. Overcast & very dull with intermittant light rain. Current temp is 14c so fairly mild. However the gusty SW wind is already making itself known, just like yesterday.
  18. Overcast & calm with light rain now. 16c after a max of 16.6c.
  19. Currently 11.4c with a mostly clear sky and a light westerly. The overnight low here was 5.3c and I noticed that it got down to 1.3c up at Topcliffe.
  20. Goodness me, the sun has just come out! (albeit very briefly) it really is up there! Up to 12.2c now.
  21. Heavy rain earlier has now given way to occasional drizzle. Dull and overcast with a moderate northerly. Temp is currently 11.9c, it only reached 12.9c here yesterday and I think we'll be lucky if we get that again today. Hoping for an improvement over the next few days.
