  1. After a damp start today has been dry with the odd brighter spell around lunchtime. Feeling milder than of recent days with a max of 7.2c in a light easterly. Maybe the milder conditions that were forecast have finally made it up here!
  2. Thick fog & light rain, 1.9c. The BBC had an overnight low here of 5c!
  3. The thick fog has lifted into mostly overcast conditions with the odd brighter spell. 2.5c and feeling very cold.
  4. Yes I agree, March is really still a winter month, we seen to be open to near 6 months of winter weather now in this country. However with noticably lighter days, sun you can actually feel the warmth of and the general 'fed upness' that people have of winter by this time you can't blame people for wanting spring to arrive. March can be cruel (Easter 2008) or kind (last year) depending on which way you look at it!
  5. Dry and overcast, 2.2c. Feeling very cold in the moderate easterly.
  6. Dry but dull and cloudy, quite a contrast after the clear blue skies of yesterday. 7.7c and feeling chilly in the light easterly.
  7. Dry but overcast and very dull. 5c in a light north-easterly.
  8. Very dull and cold once again. 2.2c and feeling bitter in a moderate easterly.
  9. Dull and damp here but not as cold as recent days. Have almost forgotton what the sun looks like!
  10. Overcast with light sleet in a light north easterly. Currently 0.8c after an overnight low of -0.4c. Bitterly cold.
  11. Overcast and dull with light/moderate rain/sleet. 2.3c in a moderate south easterly.
  12. I guess this time of year can be very frustrating. On one hand you have the extra daylight, the sun slightly higher in the midday sky together with the noticable warmth that you can feel. The odd milder, brighter day where you notice some daffodils starting to bud. There is now a small pinhead of light at the end of the long winter tunnel. Then, you get a day like today and you feel you're almost back to square one!
  13. Moderate sleet this morning turned to moderate rain proper this afternoon with a high of 1.9c in a moderate south easterly. However the rain turned back to sleet/wet snow soon after dark making for blizzard like conditions in the gusty easterly and there is already a good covering on local side roads. All in all a truly foul day, wonder what a local from Hawaii or somewhere like Western Samoa would make of the weather here today!
  14. Continuous moderate sleet/wet snow in a moderate south easterly. The ground is far too wet for it to settle though. Temp is 1.7c. Not very pleasant at all, roll on spring!
  15. Overcast with light rain in a light westerly wind. 1.9c.
  16. A mostly sunny day with a moderate northerly and a high of 3.9c.
  17. Blizzard like conditions late evening continued into the early hours dumping another 4-6in of snow. Overnight low was -1.1c. Currently 0.2c with mostly clear skies giving some good sunny spells. Still feeling bitterly cold though in a light westerly. Approx 8-12in of lying snow with not much of a thaw so far.
  18. Another grey sub zero day with a 'high' of -0.6c and still a good snow cover. There were some v.light snow showers around the middle of the day. The wind has now picked up due to the incoming front and it feels bitterly cold.
