  1. I did chuckle at their front page this morning when out shopping. How specific can they be, not 10, not 12, but exactly 11 storms!
  2. As Jo says, not for discussion here but just quickly. Go to www.windy.com and move the bottom timeline forward to Friday/Saturday. Not sure how to link directly.
  3. We lost the darkness and colour tinge for a while over here but it's returned even more than this morning. Coming through two glass doors at the front, it's turned the kitchen orange and the roller blind at the back is nearer a red shade. Fascinating.
  4. Can see it getting noticably stronger on the Dublin cam. Have to admit, i'd be uneasy walking down one of those old streets with all of those tiles above.
  5. Been monitoring a couple of other non weather related forums that I use and one guy stands out in particular. Seems to be currently in Dublin and there is hardly any wind so nothing to worry about, has decided that everyone worrying is a snowflake. It's complacency like this that worries me the most in events like this.
  6. As I said a few minutes ago, it's so eerie. It feels almost like the last moments before an eclipse, I cannot find any other way to describe it.
  7. Just done the walk to school with the youngest, it's very eerie out there this morning even over here on the east. Normally the place would be alive with birdsong and seagulls, but near enough nothing. The closest I can compare it to is the final 30 minutes before an eclipse. And the warm breeze, really strange.
  8. Aren't the forecasters themselves actually from the Met Office?
  9. Quite a left/right split in the sky on this one too! http://bouw.webcam.nl/artesis/
  10. Love that fingertip trying to touch Penzance, so near yet so far.
  11. Hoping for an interesting day today, even if I get nothing directly I'll enjoy monitoring how anything developes elsewhere. I'm relucantly hoping for it to have buggered off tomorrow morning though because we need to travel on the railway. I know the general view is that travel need not be necessary when things get nasty, but it's my mother's 80th tomorrow, they don't come around again!
  12. I could be in the firing line for a change, seems to be coming my way!
  13. The one that formed near Selby interests me, just tracking it as it passes the York railcams. Would be nice if it intensified and tracked directly north.........
  14. There appears to be hail now falling on the cam at Dawlish and more strikes appearing near Exeter.
  15. Yeah, just noticed those pop up myself, a nice early start. Here is to another day of scrambling around various webcams. Crewe looked quite impressive for a short while yesterday evening.
  16. Penzance Railway Station not looking too good.......... https://twitter.com/MRailwayCORP/status/434406898373103617/photo/1
