  1. Well all I can say is that its gurt lush.  I'm such a happy bunny and completely in my element with the sun and heat.  I've walked miles with my camera and seen some fantastic sights and have seen 2 new butterflies so far.  A bit too hot for me to go cycling though.  I found this old post, I should start my own forecasting company Posted Image

    Ha, UK's own Punxsutawney Phil!

When I come out of hibernation I shall predict a glorious summer and hope that I can forecast better than Phil because Phil's predictions have been correct only 39% of the time Posted Image
  2. We got up to about 23c today and i took my daughter and Labrador out for a picnic and game of football, sunshine was glorious

Loving my Saturday in the garden with new umbrella up while the sun is powerful and looking forward to 17.00 when I can enjoy less powerful sun. Been watching a pregnant female blackbird eating apple we put out last night, butterflies fluttering around the Clematis, small Cumulus moving quickly across on the fresh Easterly breeze and otherwise totally stunning blue sky.

Would love to have been in Falmouth this morning, have great memories of a storm there in the early 90s at the same time of day when we stayed at he now burnt down hotel.

    Pregnant?

  3. At 19c but feels much cooler because of the wind.  Feels pleasant in sheltered spots.  Wind is really whipping across my garden and Im surprised my washing is still clinging on to the line.  But I'm certainly not going to moan because last year is still fresh in the memory.  I've got cross with a couple of people this week for moaning about the weather being too warm and too dry, I had to contain my violent urges Posted Image

  4. The BBC put a report out saying that fruit harvests will be good this year due to a prolonged Winter but i'm not so sure. There was hardly any blossom on my plum trees, it's been a long time since i saw that Posted Image

I'm not sure but i think plum might like wet conditions.  I have 3 damson trees and a greengage tree in my garden and last year I had a ridiculous amount of fruit, I was giving away bagfulls! This year very little blossom so not looking good.  But my apple tree looked spectacular and the crab-apple trees in the fields and woods were covered in blossom.  Blackthorn looked like white fluffy clouds and the hawthorn is just coming out and should be quite a sight.

I'm rather liking the look of the high pressure building in as long as there is plenty of sunshine, always feel that the warmth is wasted if its cloudy.  Talk of thundery breakdown at the end of next week on the model thread which I am hoping is not true.  I know there are lots of storm fans here but my husband and sons are camping next weekend

Who's ready for good sunny spells and temperatures up to 70F tomorrow then?

    Me Me!!

  5. I don't mind the continuing cold/frosty starts so long as the days are sparkling and warm. The sky right now is very much a Med style clear blue and it's the most peasant day of the week as there's only a gentle breeze.

Its a peasant day every day here biggrin.png

Its been a lovely few days and I've been out with the camera taking photos of butterflies.  More cloud today and it does feel chilly when a cloud goes over the sun.  I think our local station on wunderground might have a few problems as its been recording temps of 32c.  Either a malfunction or its in full sunlight.  Its currently reading at 25.7c and it is nowhere near that in reality.

  6. Beautiful day, the sort of day where I am in my element.  Went off on my bike this afternoon with my camera hung around my neck.  I saw 5 varieties of butterflies but struggled to get photos as they were so active in the sunshine.

Although it was a lovely surprise to have this stunning sunshine this afternoon when cloud was forecast I was caught out because my daughter sunburnt her face at school, luckily nothing major and I've put cream on her.  I shall have to keep suncream in her bag from now on just in-case there are any other mis-forecasts!

  7. Have you had sunshine?

Here approximately 20 miles away the sun has been in and out all day so far and has been shining more often than not in the last hour making for a very pleasant and warm Spring day.

Yesterday's 16.8c max was the highest temperature since 17th September!

Not really, just hazy bits for a few seconds and we got up to 16.5c.  Sunny first thing this morning but more cloud now and 13.5c

  8. Apparently we will make it up to 11c at the weekend with rain and cloudiness.  I noticed a conversation on previous pages on Northern blocking in the summer.  Firstly don't take too much notice of Metcheck and secondly my understanding is that if the block pushes the jetstream south then we pull in cooler and wetter weather from the west/NW.  Last summer a high over Greenland forced the jetstream south, probably depends on the placement of the block.
