  1. Currently 2.6c here after getting down to -1c at some point during the night. Cloudy and bleugghh with a chilly wind. Has anyone seen any signs of spring in the models? Any sun and warmth at all? I normally read the model thread all year around but this winter it drove me insane. I might start reading it again when spring finally arrives and the coldies disappear until next winter. I suppose I could go in there and throw a tantrum about the lack of warmth.

  2. So, come the final week of March, I believe we will start to see a general warming trend with the snow risk pushing further North.

    Or will we?

A final comment though, it is however looking desperately wet too, longer-term as well. aggressive.gif

That is what I am finding so frustrating with the weather, its either cold or when it does warm up it bloody rains! My hobbies are outdoors in the spring and summer months and need it dry and warm. I don't want another year like last year, I think I'd go insane. Its not just the farm that suffered but also the wildlife especially the insects. They need a good year to recover numbers.

Anyway it is mainly cloudy here but with sunny spells and it is pleasantly warm when the sun does shine.

  3. Can you wait until April?

I can try but after being teased last Tuesday with a beautiful sunny day with temps about 15c it is difficult. A week ago I went out on my bike in a t shirt, today I went out with the dogs looking like Michelin man! I wouldn't mind it so much if we didn't have that biting wind, its too painful. My husband grows a beard to protect his face in preparation for cold spells for working on the farm, as much as I try I just can't get mine to grow!

  4. That wind is just pure evil. Took the dogs out across the fields and we are completely exposed here. The wind stung my face and was so painful. I'm now back and feel like I’ve been to have a tooth extracted but the dentist has been trigger-happy with his anaesthetic. I'm suppose to be doing house work (my son's 18th was on saturday, so house is a bomb site) but am trying to get the feeling back in my face with a hot cup of coffee. temp is up to 1.3c. I can cope with cold but I can't bear that wind.

  5. temp 0.4c dp -7.1c and a bloody hideous biting wind. I have to take the dogs out in a minute with the wind racing across the fields. I should have invested in a balaclava. I'm yearning for the weather of I think last Tuesday of sun and about 15c, so lovely.

The wind has also caused another problem. I have a rather daft male blue tit who keeps attacking his reflection in my new patio door. The advice was to cover the door in clingfilm which I did but the wind blew it off last night and he is back again today flying and pecking at the glass.

  6. Yeah, that was Jemma Cooper last night. We have had a below average month in terms of rainfall and now we need rain!

I would hazard a guess some of our Somerset and Devon residents would have a different opinion on that.

A dry March and we will be back in drought conditions no doubt! blum.gif

If Jemma Cooper mentions lack of rain or drought she is likely to have a rain gauge shoved somewhere the sun doesn't shine. smile.png

    Chilly tonight, currently -1.6c.
