  3. Bloomin Miserable B) 6oC, Light nne wind, cloudy and damp from last night. Also a light fog. Spring seems to have sprung back to spring, if you get my drift
  4. A number of weather warnings associated with the rain today are starting to crop up: Metcheck The Weather Channel (Warnings are top right of page) Perhaps we may see one or two later from the met.
  5. Temperature - 10oC Feels Like - 10oC Wind - 2mph variable Dew Point - 8oC Humidity - 87% Barometer - 1010.2mb Conditions - Cloudy/hazey
  6. An amazing piece there Highcliffe. So many interesting points/POV's: 1) Spring starts when temps average over 6oC 2) The speed of spring moving north (never thought of it like that) 3) The huge drop in CO2 when spring starts 4) How spring has become earlier, according to vegetation/plant growth I am starting to believe the answers and solutions to GW are out there in nature. But the question is....where? Anybody fancying sponsering me to do this research? It would probably take me 35-40yrs [taking me into retirement ], starting at a salary of, say, £35K + Car + Laptop + Mobile, with the salary rising at the rate of 50% above inflation? Any takers ?
  7. I tell you what Jack. They arent that far wrong, and consistancy is good. Is this a turn for tv forecasting, or is it just the fact that no-one likes the winter from the METO
  8. Looks like i'm due for some snow tonight: CBBC Forecast
  9. Have to say i'm a little dissappointed with this weekend so far. Friday was a lovely day with plenty of sunshine (as was Thursday come to think of it). So, with forecasts for sunshine yesterday afternoon, we got stuff for a BBQ. You guessed it...It was cloudy (albeit just about ok for a t-shirt). Today is a similar picture. Conditions - Cloudy Temp - 10oC Wind - 6mph from ese Dew Point - 9oC Humidity - 94% Barometer - 1021.0mb
  10. Havent been able to look at the temp today, but who cares....Its glorious
  11. A little less windy than this morning. Currently 8oC and occasional light rain.
  12. Thanks TM. Once again i'm gutted. Wont be able to go today, then i'm off to London tomoz until Weds night. So once again, looks like i'll be moving away from the action
  13. Temperature - 7oC Feels Like - 2oC Wind - 29mph from West (Gusting to 40mph) Dew Point - 1oC Humidity - 66% Barometer - 1012.9mb Conditions - A dull start to the day, with the odd break in the clouds. Darn windy too.
  14. Just (for the first time), looked at the snow league. I really cant believe it. TM. You have the second highest max depth snow fall, yet you arent that far away from here. Absolutely gutted I didnt take a trip into the peaks.
  15. Well temps during the day have ranged from 8oC here in south derbyshire to 10oC in somerset. Its been a cloudy day everywhere on the journey, which is a little disappointing, as I was hoping for some sunshine down in the s/w.
  16. Blimey AM. That chart looks like the north pole literally moved south.
  17. A mostly cloudy day here in Northamptonshire, with temps around 3oC.
  18. First time i've been able to get on since yesterday afternoon (i.e. a late report). We had a very heavy sleet (snow and freezing shower) about 17.40, with a temperature drop from +3.0 to -1.0 in the space of 1.5 minutes. Crazy stuff.
  19. Hi John. Saw an amazing sight yesterday in south Lincs, travelling up the A17. The sun was setting, a big accumulation of cloud to the north, and the ppn visible in the distance from the cloud to the ground (an advantage of the flat landscape of south lincs). Unfortunately, i didnt have a camara/phone on me, so couldnt take any pics.
  20. Well, as its not snow, I have to report, we have rain!
  21. Todays Report for my Journey: South Derbyshire @ 05.30 - A mixture of xnow and frozen rain Melton Mowbry @ 06.30 - Snow showers Meltone Mowbry to A1 - Snow showers + lying snow on roads A1 to Spalding - Now snow showers, little lying snow Spalding to Kings Lynn - Between 1-3cm of snow. Roads very slushy. Kings Lynn @ 09.30 - 3-4cm of lying snow. Another 20 mintue heavy snow shower @ 09.45 There are reports of up to 6 inches of lying snow in the s/e corner of lincs. Basically, a 2 hour journey took 4 hours this morning. Majority of roads were ungritted. These roads are very treachorous, even at 20mph cornering.
  22. Just to add another 'northern' type post, as most of the snow now seems to be in the s/e This morning between 06.50 and 07.20 very heavy snow, immediately settling, and about 1 cm with 30 mins :o I then left for Skelmersdale (subsequently it stopped snowing around the Burton junction on the A50). A little bit of snow over around halifax/leeds way on the M62 (one heavy shower towards Leeds). Apart from the hills though, I havent seen any settled snow.
  23. Here comes my lovelys... (dont you just love snow)
  24. Indeed Peter. That tends to happen when you switch from heinz beans to own label
