  1. And some EC weeklies criticism in the comments to take note of to reference against tonights EC46 run.
  2. Very good thread.. at least from what I understood!
  3. Posted this in Model Tweet thread but thinking may be useful in here as another indication of the potential interest heading towards last week of December onwards into January. As the tweet describes, running this loop shows the progression of the Scandi High moving west into Greenland (-NAO) into start of new year, could be a sign of MJO moving into Phase 8 for turn of the year. Ideally, you really need to run the loop, as from my eyes there is also high pressure around Iceland immediately after Christmas, with high over UK or near for week of Christmas.
  4. Ideally need to run the loop on the link embedded in tweet, this gives greater indication how it progresses. Maybe picking it up wrong but looks like Icelandic High on or immediately after Christmas.
  5. Most positive post by Eric so far this winter... Luckily I was sitting down! He is worth a follow was interesting reading his thoughts in MJO during La Nina last week.. and he has been accurate with the slow moving phase.
  6. Potentially looking at VEI 4 eruption whether this be low end VEI 4 or more significantly towards mid-high VEI 4, await further reports.Either way if confirmed as VEI 4, only the second VEI 4 of the year, I think?
  7. Since @Griff has been slacking tonight ...
  8. As many on here have been thinking in typical La Nina fashion, latest ECM November update likely going for early winter cold. Will be interesting to see if SSW (if one was to happen) plays a part in second half on winter.
  9. Glosea run from yesterday looking at mid December per second graph.
  10. Bedtime for me but final post or twitter link of tonight. https://twitter.com/judah47/status/1453835775020240901?t=1KpuoWhfOQUOHf3zcq28Qw&s=19
  11. JMA joins the rollercoaster even before winter starts.
  12. @CatchMyDrift just a tad cold in Calgary over next few days. To be fair quite the event over there with the record cold dropping into Texas and possibly over the border into Mexico tomorrow Over here, the thaw has well and truly set in here snow just about hanging but likely all gone by tomorrow i would think but if the end then great winter here, probably best since 2010?
  13. MO in confirmation on this. Now colder than any point in 2010.
  14. Another drop! If legit surely -22 can't be ruled out
  15. Hoping the guys and girls from Ayrshire are fortunate this time around. Fingers crossed
  16. Quite the sight, first time ever we have had GCC in gritting the roads in our streets and at midnight of all times. How exciting.
  17. Went out a wee walk and timed it nice as sat and watched that "big" blob incoming. First picture shows this incoming. Came across outdoor art on my way home. Second photo is main road which gritter passed by 5mins before this photo Heavy Baltic oot there!
  18. First time in months the main bulletin isn't about COVID on STV news. Reporters are live around Scotland and Sean Batty is going to explain why this happened. Glasgow Live have said Scotland badly affected by Storm Darcy...
