  1. SLEET? Good grief that is a poor show when Liverpool is seeing SNOW.
  2. Me too thats a worrying forecast to be honest.I'd rather we got nothing than a snow to rain jobby to be honest that would just melt my partial snowcover from last monday.
  3. I haven't seen that forecast but its a posibilty i suppose.
  4. Good to hear! From a purely selfish perspective its very good to hear the reports of snow further west,we should do pretty well here overnight!
  5. James we should see a good dumping after teatime. Hard to envisage depths but a good inch or two should be possible!!
  6. GREAT stuff stephen, hopefully a good 4 or 5 hours of the same coming to you. You deserve this mate you really do!!
  7. Excellent news mate you should be fine today and the bbc forecast has no mention of rain. I always worry though when snow comes off the Atlantic as warm sectors can become a big issue. All in all though with a dew of -3 im pretty confident you will see snow.,
  8. Yes those temps and dew points are fine for snow mate, what we want to see is a good 'clean' band of snow moving in and not fragmenting at the back end.The lighter the precip after the main lot has gone through will be the key for me,and you more so.Plnety of greens and yellows and little blues is what we want to be seeing on the radar rteurns.
  9. I think its our turn today guys. More elevation will help esp as the band pushes through towards the back end when the temps will rise as the air gets more 'mixed' out.Difficult to assess depths as there is no real mention of the intensity of the band.Im hopeful the band will pick up as it crosses the Irish sea. The one down side is those nearer the coast will probably only see a period of wet snow before the dews get high enough to trigger sleet or rain, this might become mroe apparent as the precip becomes lighter.we can hope the skies clear in quick time after the band has passed so the temps can drop back again and prevent to much melt.
  10. Yep-skies clearing here i think we are in for a harsh frost tonight. For those further NW who missed out today hopefully your turn will come sometime over the next 5 or 6 days UKMO is pretty awesome and pretty darn cold.
  11. temps hovering around zero here with a very slow thaw in effect. Still have plenty in the drifts and im expecting a heavy frost tonight. off out sledging shortly i think!!!
  12. Stopped here now i hope there is not a major thaw between now and 4pm as the sun drops and the skies clear. Dont think that front will bring anything here but im a bit confused that it seems to fizzle out as it moves south only them to re-intensify as it passes through the midlands. i can only assume the band will have the intensity taken by the pennines.
  13. Bit diappointed here to be honest. Barely 2 cm have fallen and the snowfall has been very very light in the main. meto radar looks pretty poor now for this area with most of the slight precip that was hovering round here passing away to the ne
  14. Updated meto radar shows the heavier stuff moving NE over towards yorkshire. Moderate snow here but not heavy by any means.I think the system will peter out now unless we see some re-intensification to our South. West york looks right in the firing line.
  15. Nice one buddy thats great news for you!!! Still moderate/light snow here only about 2 cm but its topping up the 7 or 8 cm i already had.
  16. reports from down south suggest the band is not heading NW,more NNE!! Lets hope this changes soon as we will get absolutely zip here if that continues.
  17. http://www.meteociel.fr/modeles/ukmo2.php?...&carte=2000 Ste thats the updated t120FAX,check that out. (and the t96 is cold as well)
  18. STE CHECK OUT THOSE FAX CHARTS. well within 528 DAM sat sun and mon.
  19. diane oxbury doesnt seem to keen on that idea, rubbish forecast for the region.
  20. Looking good at the moment and i have to say that forecast has ne suprised,no claims of right or wrong until tomorrow though guys!! Just as an aside that annoying layer of cloud looks set to envelop me AGAIN preventing a sharp frost!!!
