  1. It was very cold air a front ran into and basically stopped. We'll see..
  2. It'll stall = very cold around the central belt = front won't know what to do. Was the case in 2010.
  3. Well worth right click and open. Took this few minutes ago as Meteor M2 weather satellite went literally overhead. Had to use infrared imagery as it's not daylight but you can still see snow over hills and mountains and of course the front is heading slowly over the very cold air soon.
  4. Pretty clear and defined front incoming from the NW. Satellite decoded at 16:50 local (NOAA 19)
  5. Meteor M2 satellite went overhead 5 minutes ago and produced this. It's take your pick what might be snow and what might be simple low level cloud. 7.4Mb first pic so enlarge for detail.
  6. See the low (Bella) swing south and notice the wind direction. True polar stuff soon. EqP3EDRXUAAIt4J.mp4
  7. Another capture @ 10:15am . Looks like a little lull ahead then snow tonight?
  8. There's snow in there somewhere. Latest hi-res pics DIY-style. 7Mb and 11Mb sizes so good to enlarge and focus on finer detail / cloud formation.
  9. Here it comes - SNAW and cold air. Rain front clearing to the south quickly. Enlarge pic for fine detail view. All that snaw heading our way.
  10. Courtesy of my DIY weather decoding software, here we have the following: 1/ Close up of outer bands of forming #StormBella 2/ Clouds over Iceland associated with #StormBella in relation to UK, Europe and north Africa. (High resolution 9Mb pic) 3/ Clear skies just south of here. Cold night ahead for UK. Interesting weather watching ahead.
  11. My misguided thinking or there's more snow in this than we think ? It's frosty here but just a few miles east we have ppn. Sat pic @ 21:30.
  12. Managed to capture M2 satellite image as it went overhead. Plenty snow cover over Scotland if you look closely .
  13. DIY weather satellite decoding (at 8pm) and I do believe we have snaw oot west. Scotland at night using thermal imagery to show the showers piling in.
  14. Should be MetO warning upgrades going by this.
