I'm going to bed now because writing my poem has taken a lot out of me. Emotionally drained.

Lowestoft, Lowestoft
Where is your snow,
It's up in the sky
Where dead Eskimos go.
Eskimos, Eskimos
Please fall back down,
Lowestoft needs you
So crash to the ground.
I know it's a very good poem, and could make people get quite emotional but just try and hold yourselves together.

To be read in a Pam Ayres accent:
Oh lonely snowflake, soft and white
You drift so slowly, through the night
My lamppost it doth shineth bright
I never see your lovely light
For us in Beccles, Yarmouth, call
Why do you give us bugger-all?
Absolutely beautiful. If you could have fitted Lowestoft in there I would have giveth you teneth points, but withouteth you getteth three eth.

surely anything is dangerous? I have a scar on my nose from falling headfirst at school into someone's skirt zip (freak accident) should we ban skirts?
What a coincidence, I also have a scar on my nose from doing exactly the same thing, the woman who's skirt zip it was punched me in the face. It was an accident, honest it was.

You obviously haven't read Osborne's famous treatise: Trickle Down Economics and The Systematic Starvation of The Peasantry, then??
That's on my to read list. Number 473.

Maybe we should be ignorant and ignore stating that GFS is rubbish, like everyone else does
Maybe us, Gary Walker and Jennyjane should start a barbershop quartet called the moanatronics. First single could be "Looking for a flake of snow"
I only watch the news now so that I can remind myself what snow on the ground looks like.

You make some excellent points in your post, but your "foundation of national wealth through the middle ages" comment should really say "the foundation of the Barons wealth through the middle-ages." A minor detail I know.

i've given up with trying to get warm and got into bed
I'm going for a steaming hot bath to try and thaw out my old bones. Back later.
-
My old bones really can't take much more of working outside in this freezing wind. So I'm giving up, bring on the warmth.

Attempting to thread wiring through metal conduit with an arctic gale blowing when you are 50 yards from the North Sea is tricky, painful, and a wee bit challenging.
-
Working outside at Corton on the cliffs, I would hazard a guess that the wind chill is - bloody fffffrrrrrreeeeezzzzzing.
-
Tis all moonshine?
It was all B#*~#*~t.

Glad to see that the precipitation after 10 hours has finally gone from over Lowestoft. I will now start the arduous task of digging myself out.
-
i don't understand it
I'm going with your 5th dimension explanation.
-
Snow still piling into Yarmouth and Lowestoft area according to radar.
Oh wait.... this weekend has been a complete right-off haha
It's actually getting heavier on the radar, shovel at the ready.
-
The gritters are out in Brighton
I like a gritter as much as the next fella, but you look like you're getting way too excited. What are you like with Buses?
-
-
is it right it might continue into May?
I hope you're joking. If it did a lot of the tourist industry in Lowestoft, Great Yarmouth, and The Broads would be left devastated.
-
Find this much more accurate.
Very accurate. Me, the Captain, and Jenny are snowed in yet again.
-
this radar doesn't show the fake snow - i think!
I can tell you that it does show "fake snow." That was showing it over Lowestoft for nearly two hours. We have had no snow or rain today. Nothing.

http://www.meteorada...rain-snow-sleet
is that me or is there another streamer growing
I see Lowestoft is still getting snowed in on that radar.
-
I have made a rough calculation on the back of a fag packet that if Lowestoft, Great Yarmouth, and Beccles had actually received the snow that the radar has shown us getting in the last three days these towns would now be invisible from outer space. You might just see the tips of the wind turbines poking out through the snow. In Reality.

Just back from my sojourn to the beach. A waste of time photographing the impending clouds coming in off the North Sea as the sky just turned grey. Took a quick snap of the sea, and then ran back to my house as it was freezing cold and the spray off the waves felt like darts hitting you in the face. Nasty weather.

Off to work and it's still freezing, but those beautiful, haunting poems will keep the cockles of my heart warm all day.
