  1. It started off pretty sunny, 4th sunniest January on record, sunniest April on record but compared to recent years, it makes a change not to have a year where every other month was returning a top 10 in this, a top 10 in that.
  2. 1957-58, 1965-66 and 1982-83 produced some interesting wintry episodes.
  3. What use is that hour? Gardening is limited, weather is going to dictate any outdoor activity. Indoor activities are not dependent on daylight and weather.Besides a lot of workers don't do a 9-5 shift.
  4. Also a lot of people do shift work. If you are a night shift worker, during the winter months, you start and finish work in the dark and during the summer months, you start and finish work in the light.
  5. Plenty of hobbies and activities other than TV. Read a book for instance.People are kidding themselves if they think lighter evenings in the winter will increase outdoor recreational activity, the one thing that dictates outdoor activities in this country is the weather. Who the hell wants to do an outdoor activity in driving rain and gales just because itis still light at 5pm?
  6. So glad people kept their videotapes, here's live BBC coverage that was taped during the famous Wimbledon storm of '85
  7. 24th October 1995: squall line. Remember this, it was a very windy mild day and in the evening the squall line moved through with a couple rumbles of thunder and gusty torrential rain.
  8. 'orrible day, One of the worst type of weather days for me.
  9. What has happened to the OPI this year? Last year, some members were foaming at the mouth hanging onto every value, this year, nothing.
