  6. Louder rumble of thunder, just looks as though it is absolutely going to pour it down.

  10. Sun has broken through here. Not quite the washout it looked like.
  11. Symon's Meteorological Magazine from September 1914 on the outbreak of war
  12. On the contrary, we'll be unlucky if it doesn't get over 20C at least once.Even August 1986 managed one 20C at Manchester Airport.
  13. Not looking good at Old Trafford cricket ground!https://mobile.twitter.com/RVISkyStatto/status/495243494508990464/photo/1Suppose to be a T20 game quarter final tonight.
  14. I suspect a lot of Australian farmers would like to see the back of them!24 released rabbits in the 1850s started the problem.
  15. Rain has been showery in nature with heavier bursts. Brightened up with sun breaking through.
  16. Remember this day well. It was hot and sunny but it became cloudier to the west and then in the mid afternoon it went bang with a thunderstorm and temperatures dropped about 10C. It was a scorcher, a number of stations recorded maxima of 30C or over
  17. If you had the power with a single click of a finger to cause the extinction of a type of plant, animal etc what would it be? For me, it would be horseflies. What an obnoxious creature these are.
