  1. Found the reports that nighthttp://forum.netweather.tv/topic/75830-north-west-england-regional-discussion-040213-18z/?p=2585424
  2. February 2009 easterly spell saw thunder snow that was caught on video. Can see it between 1.39 and 1.49
  3. October 2001 has not stuck in the memory at all. The only thing that I remember connected with that month is that John Kettley did a long range annual forecast for 2001 and went for a cold October at the start of the year. Besides that I can't remember anything about that month and have to refer to my weather diary entries and the forecasts I taped from that month.
  4. 4th February 2013 Associated with the remains of that cold front on that FAX chart above. Heavy shower came in and turned to snow then we had lightning and thunder. I think several members in the NW will remember this event.
  5. Early February 2013, Monday night?Heavy shower of rain and hail turned to snow and there was thunder and lightning with it.
  6. Love how the top of the cumulus cloud spreads out between 23s and 30s on the right hand side.
  7. This will be the reaction by some members if we get charts like that this winter
  8. No missed that one by a few miles. Got a time lapse of it though.
  9. Yes, it has been poor. Although we got the storm here of the 19th July, you did better with that storm than I did.As often with the case when overall it maybe a good or very notable year or season, some area seems to miss out. For instance, last winter was a record breaker rainfall wise, but in this area it wasn't that wet.
  10. True but that is more of an issue at the local level than at the national level. If we had a month's rainfall in a day at the national level we would be knee deep under water!
  11. Strange glow between 1.12 and 1.24 that seems to be setting. It isn't the Moon itself because that is looking North northwest and the Moon was to the south. 12th/13th August 2014 night time lapse
  12. I would have said 1989 for England and Wales if you are referring to CET and 1766 rainfall series. Conclusively, it would be 1976. All three months were clearly warmer and drier than average by a margin.1995 had all three months below average rainfall wise but June was only a touch above average for the CET In 2003, only August was below average rainfall wise.
  13. My summers at high school coincided with some of the poorest: 1985 to 1988. I started high school after the summer of 1984 and finished before summer of 1989. August 1985 was bad. August 1986 was bad, that last week of that month was terrible! York and the river Ouse was flooding First half of August 1987 was poor, I remember one Friday being freezing! The second half had some warmer weather and I remember the thunderstorms of 22nd August. Don't remember August 1988 that too well, the July was awful.
  14. Time lapse of a cumulonimbus thunderstorm cell from 10th June 2014
  15. Been very wet in a corridor from Liverpool to Manchester this afternoon.
