  1. Depends on what average you measure against. We have had 10 consecutive months that were below the 1971-2000 average. It took till December 2003, to return the 10th month that was below the 1971-2000 average starting from January 2001. From January 2011 to June 2013, there have been 18 months that were below the 1971-2000 average. From January 2001, it took to August 2007 to record the 18th month below the 1971-2000 average.
  2. If some are wondering why I have started an autumn thread now, I point out that the summer 2013 thread was started on the 4th of April, when we were still freezing and spring hadn't even started. Autumn tends to be a forgotten season, people tend to look at prospects of the following winter instead. You can get some lovely warm later summer weather well into October. I do like October sunny warm weather. What are the prospects for Autumn 2013? Dry? Wet? Stormy? Cold?
  3. What a joke and waste of time that was.
  4. Lol I just thought that they should have played the Police Squad theme tune after he finished.
  5. 7 years ago since this tremendous thunderstorm Rainfall radar images It had been a hot day, cumulus clouds developed and there were odd thunderstorms around. Then the clouds exploded late afternoon and we had a tremendous downpour with pea sized hail, local flooding and close CG lightning. Two hours later, it looked as though nothing had happened. Clear skies and the ground had dried out.
  6. If you look at it from January 2012, then the only above average months against 1981-2010 averages in that period are January 2012, March 2012, August 2012 and December 2012That's 4 out of the last 18.
  7. I remember this well, I thought it was a recording at first and someone had forgot to press the end button, when the weather report had ended but then I realised Alex Deakin eyes were moving and poor Alex had to stand there in a mannequin mode for 30 seconds, probably wondering when this was going to end
  8. There was a spell of very warm summer weather around the 2nd week of July 2005, it may turn out similar to that spell this year.
  9. Looks like the coolest first half to a year since 1986
  10. No sign of any thundery plumes. Is it going to be another summer that lacks thundery plumes?
