  1. SunSean snap, I made the changes on the met office website and next week looks stunning I prefer the more positive outlook
  2. Metwatch they really need to as I find met office forecasts usually paint a pessimist view on sunshine…they have for next week overall and I’ll bet we have lots more sunshine than their forecast suggests
  3. SunSean I hope sun for you guys … on a 12 hour shift today and tomorrow, hoping Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday next week are sunny and warm so I can enjoy it. But it is lovely sitting out in some sun in my break, really lifts the mood, I feel happy enjoy the sun today everyone. Temp wise feels pleasant and warmer than 7am this morning when I left home. Have you got sun now @SunSean
  4. SunSean next week looks very sunny so fingers crossed we are turning a tide. Lets hope May, June, July and august are all above average for sunshine, hell let’s chuck in September and October too, we certainly deserve it after all these duller than average months Next week alone should get many in the country 80+ hours of sunshine It’s clear blue skies here currently but only 2c brrr
  5. What was the rainfall totals for areas that got hit by the torrential rain and thunderstorms? Overnight we clocked up 28.2mm of rainfall and unless I slept through it we didn’t get a thunderstorm just heavy rain But there was some torrential rains on the radar overnight, they must have got a soaking
  6. What was the rainfall totals for areas that got hit by the torrential rain and thunderstorms? Overnight we clocked up 28.2mm of rainfall and unless I slept through it we didn’t get a thunderstorm just heavy rain
  7. In Absence of True Seasons I know, it’s been pretty disappointing weather wise for so long overall, nice days have been few and far between. When I’m looking at the gfs the jet has overall been south shifted mostly with low pressure in the vicinity for weeks on end with the odd passing high that get pushed away too quickly, hoping this pattern doesn’t stick through summer. Next week looks promising but then according to gfs the jet shifts south again and we get lows over us
  8. Summer8906 I could be quite happy to never see cloud for several months, we have truly drawn the short straw in the SW in god knows how many months with only a peppering of decent days and a max of 19c on one day. I know next week looks nice but I’m hoping it’s not a blip, we really deserve a good long dry, warm and sunny spell
  9. We had 28.2mm overnight so that’s well over half maybe 3 quarters of our May rainfall I think without checking . I don’t mind as long as we have a 200+ hour sunshine month, next week looks better so hopefully we will all get to enjoy some sunny warmth from next week, we all deserve it
  10. Looking forward to your sunshine figures @SunSean Also does @alexisj9 still post, not seen any posts from her in a long while? Hope she’s ok
  11. We had 72% of average April sunshine in Exeter, the third month in succession of below average, though we see to have had very roughly speaking 80% of our average monthly rainfall…small mercies I guess. We’ve had so many below average sunshine months the past year or so…hopefully this pattern will flip to something more positive soon
  12. Cloudy, light showers and cool where I am. Hope to god this weather improves soon, the ratio of cloudy/wet days compared to sunny days is really beginning to do a number on me, I honestly didn’t think it possible this spring would be as bad as last spring but it has been so far.
  13. SunnyG maybe certain parts of Spain, the jet has been so far south that Spain and France has suffered from many low pressure systems as well…. does anyone have any stats? Have they been wetter and duller overall for many months too?
  14. Looks like a sunny day for us is incoming as the cloud moves further east, hopefully you guys further east benefit at some point today too, thankgod
  15. I would like to know which countries have been benefiting from our misfortunes for several months….ie dryer, sunnier, warmer…..
  16. At least it’s not just the uk being afflicted with this pattern, it’s been northwest Europe and Spain. I should imagine Spain have been wetter, cooler and duller for for many months too? Would be interested to see the stats for them
  17. Shunter nothing would surprise me anymore. On a positive the sun is breaking though here and I think we have sunny spells in the forecast for today…it’s just as well as we have 50 hours sunshine to achieve average before the month is out which isn’t going to happen but hopefully it’ll be less than a 50 hour below average month it currently is (the third in a row)
  18. Shunter 9c is our typical daytime temperature here in January or February, certainly not what you expect when we are knocking at the month of May door. We have had the sh*t end of the stick for so long that we forget this isn’t normal or even average weather for us, it sucks. Hopefully next week we’ll start to see an improvement
  19. CryoraptorA303 not just the south east…..at least you guys are usually the first to benefit from actual heat and thunderstorms imported from the continent. The south west tends to get the left overs, I’ll give you that we struck gold from mid May last year all through June with sunshine baddie well May is our sunniest month here and after the last few mays I expect it’ll be extended that lead
  20. Wade I wish we did have consistent springs and summers, the jet has been so far south last spring and this spring that we have effectively been having springs I imagine northern Scotland and the Faroe Islands get…it just sucks as I wouldn’t have minded had it been like that in winter then maybe we’d have had snow but these patterns always emerge at the wrong time to actually benefit from with seasonal weather….hopefully the jet sods off back north not to be seen again until late autumn
  21. Wade you’ve just had 2 springs which have felt a lot cooler than average due to lack of sun, please let us enjoy some sun and heat before we all go stir crazy. I can’t wait to feel sunny warm 22c+ touching my skin…I’ve been in a jacket and scarf more times than I’d like this spring
  22. *Stormforce~beka* I know. I think nice weather will be here soon, we just have to be patient and hopefully we’ll have an extended summer. April will end up wetter and duller for many of us, the third month in a row like this and that’s after a duller and wetter several months the later part of last year too…We just have to feel the motions, which we have every right to feel after such dire weather for months and know that brighter days ahead Alderc 2.0 hope you get well soon
  23. *Stormforce~beka* I know, I’m happy for the southeast/London but it would be like a slap in the face. This morning was cold, I thought I’d been asleep for months and woke up in November. It sucks even more that we didn’t really have a spring last year apart from the last 2 weeks of May last year and it’s the same this year.
