  1. Sun Chaser too true, we can only hope the above average months for sun will fall in spring and summer, it’s all we can do at this point.
  2. I would like to know the percentage of cloudy days we’ve had as a posed to sunny days the past several months, I’ve never known anything like it. It’s no wonder many people went down with flu and colds this season, among other reasons many must be seriously lacking in vitamin d, thankfully I take a multivitamin every day so I never got Ill. This pattern has got to break at some point surely! Call me whatever but we surely do deserve a stellar spring and summer surely? I don’t think I’d cope if we have a below average spring and summer
  3. Gfs 00z showing some warmth wafting up from Spain for the end of March, this would be more than welcome couldn’t see anything too cold either, it seems to be shifting to Eastern Europe so hopefully a good sign of the ssw not negatively impacting us by delaying spring
  4. Mike Poole ssw are rare? Happened last year too and sodded up spring 2023, a repeat this year is not needed and would be a hard slap in the face from the overall dull wet weather we’ve endured the past several months. Sun and warmth now please, a freeze and more rain is not needed nor desired…I don’t fancy owing energy companies money even after the large (for me!) credit I built up last year to see me through winter. I can’t take the weather, government and energy companies laughing at our expense. We need some beautiful weather to raise this country’s morale, it is spring after all
  5. Nick F not again we had this last year and had to wait until mid May for proper warmth, not after the weather we have had the past several months, hope this doesn’t come to fruition
  6. cheeky_monkey you must think we’re a bunch of moaners when we complain of being cold and it being 8C here
  7. baddie 15C? 21C and above would be better but then I guess it is only march
  8. Mullet With pleasure, we surely must be all due a long sunny dry spell after the past several months. I’d like to know the reasoning why bar the odd settled period (few and far between) the weather has either been grey sky’s or wet. cheeky_monkey god knows how you cope in that kind of cold …how’s the spring and summers there? Temp wise and weather conditions?
  9. How’s the weather been in the east today? Here in Devon it’s been cold, blowing a hooly and raining, it’s just stopped now, still cloudy though I can only hope beautiful warm weather will be on the horizon soon
  10. ANYWEATHER hope so, we’ve had more than our fair share of dull and wet. I know March can be an iffy month but I hope to god we get a long warm settled spell by April…I couldn’t imagine having another wet and below average sunshine months
  11. SollyOlly out of interest what temperature is your threshold for being too hot, both of you? markyo ?
  12. SollyOlly I think so too I’m glad we cleared that up before I was sent to the gallows. I should have said in my experience of when I was overweight as having read it back I can imagine how some might have interpreted it SollyOlly that takes will power, I love food too much to restrict myself but it does mean I have to be active ha
  13. markyo well done, that’s amazing how did you do it? Good, I would not want to offend anyone here at all, I was like 3 and half stone overweight during the lock downs as at the time I had a sit down job plus couldn’t work out and I literally felt so bad on myself, so glad I lost it now, have a very active heavy job and got my motivation back. I feel you, likewise, we have no air con where I work and windows have stoppers on so can’t open them fully, I don’t think anyone would hurt themselves by chucking themselves out of a ground floor window let’s just hope we all have a pleasant spring and summer with lots of sunshine and temps of 22c - 25c, that way everyone will be happy, the heat haters and sun and warmth lovers, we can hope can’t we
  14. markyo I meant no offence, when I put 3 stone on during the lock downs I always felt hot/sweaty/uncomfortable and rarely felt cold then when I lost the weight when gyms reopened I just noticed that I started to feel the cold again so presume that all the extra weight I was kept me more insulated SollyOlly really, I hadn’t noticed you ever liking a post of mine but I’ve no idea what I said that you’d find offensive when it was my experience when I was overweight. I don’t mean any offence to anyone else so please don’t turn it into something it isn’t and feel free to carrying on liking my posts even if you don’t ever like them I know you don’t like heat but that’s all I’ve noticed about you but it’s fine, we all have our preferences
  15. raz.org.rain anything below 21c is not what I would class as warm, I still wear cardigans below that temperature unless I was at work or gardening, maybe in a previous life I was from a tropical country, it would explain my love of sun and warmth, not that I dislike cold or snow or even winter, i find it cosy, it’s just where I live even when it’s cold we very rarely see proper snow let alone settling snow so always feels like such a waste and it’s now coming to the end of the ‘colder’ months and I start getting that SAD thing where I am ready for sun, warmth, flowers and leaves of trees rather than twigs raz.org.rain I can, maybe it’s a regional thing, the only thing that I’ve felt has been below average is sunshine and all the above average rain we have had. look at these graphs, just horrid and like another poster said when it’s raining you can’t really feel mild when soaking wet and no sun on your skin!
  16. markyo well I’m not overweight so tend to feel the cold more than others would who might be, less fat insulation
  17. CryoraptorA303 I think you’ll find this graph more of an example of my experience of winter overall temp wise. Yes February has been mild, January was bloody cold, December….meh. We live in a warming climate so I’d expect we’d usually always be above average overall
  18. In Absence of True Seasons thankyou, I just typed this very thing, thanks for your non biased reply to me as always I genuinely have not felt this winter has been out of the ordinary temperature wise in any shape of the imagination…at times it’s felt friged, others times mild, this is normal here in winter, where I am
  19. CryoraptorA303 I’m not arguing just conveying my experience of this winter but you are forgetting I live in a milder area of the country ie Devon where we have more milder winters generally than where many others live in this country
  20. CryoraptorA303 I can, there is always milder periods in winter likewise colder periods, this winter feel no different other than it has been wetter and duller than average
  21. markyo we have, this is England not Scandinavia….our winter weather is predominantly cool/mild and wet, very very rarely snowy, am I missing something? I’m sorry you feel that way (maybe a move to the northern isles might be good for you) but many of us are barely hanging on after the historically dull and wet winter we have just had, bring on warmth and sunshine. I’ve had a look at the latest gfs and yet more cool and wet weather to come, the high pressure seems to have disappeared, hopefully it’ll reappear as I don’t think I have it in me to endure another rubbish month Am I missing something? I don’t ever remember feeling warm the past 4 months, mild some days maybe but never warm unless I was indoors
  22. marky810 it could be accurate but I’m dubious, it’s questionable only because the climate data it has on the Exeter Wikipedia page is out of date for starters, Exeter reached I think 29c last September and it’s still not been amended. I could be wrong but I don’t even think USA major cities sunshine totals are accurate, very inflated like some of their egos plus I heard it’s measured differently than the uk sunshine totals are. I heard an American lady say online that we had very cold winters as she was thinking degrees celcius were Fahrenheit like how they measure temperature in USA when in fact her winters were much colder than England's
  23. marky810 I really question Copenhagen and Stockholm sunshine hours, I can’t believe they are sunnier than London
  24. Frigid well in fairness you have had plenty of that weather the past several months and even before autumn and winter with those very poor summer weeks we had. it’s time for some warmth and sun now. I know we only get chance of 6 months of true warmth if we are lucky but couldn’t think of anything worse when every month was cool or cold like in the most northern countries. Don’t get me wrong I like winter/autumn but with how poor and dull the weather has been for several months overall I’m ready!
