this may look like a hurricane eye soon lol, I swear it's trying to rap the ppn right around it's self.
Not saying it is a hurricane lol.
-
Is it trying to pull the ppn back so it is all the way around the low, that's sort of what it look like it's trying to do, IMO anyway, might be why it looked like it was going southeast, got to watch where the low is going not the rain I think.
-
Yes, this indicates freezing rain
lol great so instead of snow I get an ice rink, could be interesting if it happens though, I don't think I've seen freezing rain before.
-
So tasty!!
What does the red squigle over a green dot mean?
-
hi bobby dog
i think people are looking at this wrong
its what happens AFTER the low drops which is when what
is around the outer of the low will head towards the south east
on a east-north east flow
I think I got it, once that trough gets to the southeast you expect a thames streamer from the eqast north east flow, got to admit I didn't think of that.
-
lets see if anyone can see what is good about them fax charts
Ok, probably wrng, I think the first one confirms that the low does pivot and gives snow to places in the south east over night, also there is a trough just abouve east angler that may cause showers to track down the east of england as it tracks south.

Pretty much hopeless if your after setting snow those who like me have seen rain overr the past hour.
Those who want to see non setting snow should be in business however i don't think i will bother as snow that does not settle is not something that floats my boat.
Have a good one all.
Beers & Bed for me.
If it snows and the snow is not wet snow again, it will settle on a wet surface. It depends on the type of snow not how wet the surface is.

Good shout by the BBC about the front moving down from the north that would explain why the showers are making it here...
What did they say about the front, as far as I can tell it is raising our temps slightly, or that might be the westerly wind. Or both.
-
wales could be in for a pasting tonight! Streamer heaven up there!
If you Dew point and Air temp can get below freezing then you stand a good chance of seeing some of the white stuff..
Mines going up, hit +2 for the first time today.

Rain in croydon
It can't decide between rain sleet and snow, a mixture of everything here.
-
Snowing in old town croydon.
-
Anyone know what the DP in croydon is?
-
Croydon here.
-
Does the cheshire gap streamer ever get as far southeast as here?
-
Those showers in kent are really working hard to move west against a northeast wind.
-
Not a flake here, can see stars now too, I'm off to bed lol. Hopeful for a nice surprise in the morning Hope you all see some snow!
Clear skys not such a bad thing really, it let the temp drop to -1 here about an hour ago. You want to be cold for when the ppn finally gets here.
-
went out for a quick walk to the shop and thay gitted the A3 and the path ways .but dont think it will snow here tonight might be sum wet snow/sleet but nothing to wright home about.hopefully will get sum during the week.
Well even if it does, we probably won't be able to tell because of all the grit, if it's as light as they think it will be. They really don't want another big event stopping everything again.
-
yeh i asked the same convergance question a while ago but got lost in the furore of this forum. I'dguess they would 'combine' creating supercells.
What you mean thunder snow?
If so that would be nice but I think unlikely.

hi bob
keep your eye on the radar tomorrow
this aint resolved yet
do not be surprised to see something late tonight and tomorrow
Going by the MO message to croydon council and your cryptic messages, what have you spotted JP?,
-
Gone to 95% chance for gillingham in the last 10 mins!
Changed to that here too, not sure those showers will reach croydon though.

Big wedge of precip moving towards kent! Will it get here and will it be heavy enough to give a covering?
Looks interesting I wonder if it will effect the front moving SE in some way.

It's still moving sw watch the center, the dry curve, not the ppn.
