I do suspect the amber warning to be expanded tomorrow morning given this wording for the yellow wind warning. I believe more of the SW will be included in this amber warning.

It doesn't look like a red warning is likely, at least in my opinion, however if models do uptrend or show Isha deepening faster than expected, a red warning could potentially be given out.

Sting jet perhaps, its in it strengthening phase over us. I'd prefer one not happen, haven't checked the fax.

No, but it is cold already - might have been boring but it's been really cold.

There's a leaking stopcock on my way to work which has caused an ice rink on the pavement because it's been so cold.. I'm talking about 5 metres worth of pavement iced up.

Sounds like dover after the rain two nights ago, once it stopped and the temps dropped, except it wasn't deep apart from puddles.

Yes but he is the Mayor for London now!!! can't blame previous incumbents for your own atrocious mayorship.

but hey, this is not the place for politics i suppose.

Nothing political about buses not getting there heating fixed, that's down to mismanagement,  although there are probably bits of the fleet with more urgent problems, and they do need to run buses that can drive to stick too timetables, especially in the mornings and afternoons to get kids to school and home again. I'm sure those buses are on the fix list, but won't be priority.

First time I’ve seen BBC Breaking News reporting a named storm. Could this be more serious than we initially thought?

Depends who you mean, I've taken this seriously since it first showed on the meto model, I did dismis it the day vefore when gfs first showed it for obvious reasons. It's not just the low which has winds, but also the squeeze of iso bars due to the high south of us, that's causing the wide high wind zone.

When I left for work it was -3.  where I am now seems a bit warmer, it’s 0 so it’s either gone up or just a bit better

I was training outside last night, it was an incredible night but oh my god it was cold. I’m pretty good at working in the cold but as you can probably remember I’ve been a bit chilly of late lol. I got home and couldn’t warm up whatever I did, which is pretty unusual, I have had to learn pretty quick how to stay warm in the cold, anyway I laid in bed and shivered for hours. I went to bed extra blankets, clothes, water bottle and wooly hat  😂😂😂 I looked like the mitchelin man

Thank fully you handled it, but sounds like you may have been slightly hypothermic

minus 2 on the way into work... and that was inside the bus! or least felt like it. Khan's Totally fooked London (TfL) public transport is pants. Buses freezing in winter and too hot in summer. Grrr

    Rant over 😄

Nothing to do with him lol, Boris was mayor when I lived in London, buses had the same problems.

There's a name for the part of day, not long after sunrise, where the temps actually get colder before warming up a bit. sure one of the meteorological educated will know what it is 😄

    Dawn?

Wind speeds have been consistently decreasing across Scotland, no need for even a yellow warning here with the max gust forecast at 49mph where I am.

Storm trending slightly south so you guy6 aren't in the worst of it, still plenty of time for change though, its a very early be aware warning really.

I was working in Grove Park that day and there was even more snow there than in Dartford I agree south London Surrey did the best but I was happy with our 6.5-7inches back home none the less the most I'd seen since 1991 when I opened the back door and snow came up to my neck as a 4year old lol. 2010 we had double 2009s amount though it fell over 2.5days

For me in Croydon 2009 was the best since I've been an adult, came up to my knees.

Really is a dead zone for interesting weather in recent years.

Named storms either hit Northern France or Northern England.

Snow, run the radar. In a nutshell.

    Thunderstorms....need I say more.

I know not all the above floats everyone's boar, but I love all extremes and it is no exaggeration to say the above generally miss us in the South for the last decade.

Have a strange feeling Sundays low, or whenever it comes, won't miss anyone unfortunately.
