ECM still nice and already v cold at 168, not quite UKMO but better than the GFS - as long as we get the cold in then we can hope the snow chances pop up. Can the ECM hold the high enough for some longevity though

Booom ECM way better than the GFS , ignore the GFS I’d say. Height holding the the northerly flow isn’t getting pulled west over Greenland

T150 mean looks better to me - nice to be talking about semi reliable - ish!! Block holding over Greenland The mean at 156 has us already in cold air

With all the amazing charts of the day, this one is up there - ENS clearly having a quicker transition to the cold - by this time tomorrow we should really start having a good idea of the initial transition to cold for Sunday/Monday - hopefully we can really stay sub -6c uppers (snow conducive) for at least a week from then.

Hoping the ECM follows the UKMO , although the GFS is v close to a monster snow event from the SW - and still has blocking which could help out as we go on.

Yeah that’s a vast swathe of cold air coming down - likely ice days with plenty of snow opportunities!!
