  1. not sure, but this looks like just rain for low levels in the west? been monitoring this, as on every run there has been a slight shift west, now the mild sector is over us, not in the north sea, looks like a trough, where I was hoping for lower thicknesses with convective snow
  2. Anyone would think that was my post! kind of agree, but I do think if anything snow 'window' has increased, not ruling out a few flurries between Thurs eve and early Sat, what is definite though mild air sweeping in later on Sat, leading to a wet Sunday certainly not expecting settling away from Peak district (30cms there sigh) Stockport also 30cms+ sigh
  3. what is not being mentioned on here is a miserable washout Sunday, could be warnings issued by meto nearer the time, been on last 3 GFS runs, dreading it, but at least later in run looks drier
  4. looks better, but noticed last few runs starting to edge west, any further west and our snow chances will be off, the mild wedge to the NE closer
  5. Yes, it does look better, but today they have no problems reaching me, when conditions are not right for snow it always hits also Sunday is looking very wet
  6. better flow? seems like it, to come to more of the NW and W Midlands
  7. looking good for you Will! and others high up, not sure about low Stafford, the town is just 81m asl, I'm 23m up Radford Bank
  8. not surprised, you are in a good location, my location is the least likely to see snow I would think, Welsh mountains are in the way
  9. Turning mild from the west Sat 14th, 2 day blast, about 4th GFS run on the bounce now, could even be mild for high levels in midlands
  10. Agree, winds are too westerly, this is going to Stockport, ESE track through Derbyshire, and I've not seen a flake of snow this season
  11. would have thought very cold, mild uppers, but cold under high, Scotland, and N/NW snow to remain
  12. ECM, much prefer this to GFS, cold high, but dry, GFS screams wet weekend
  13. this chart though not great, showers will move through Stockport into Derbyshire, winds are too westerly, Stockport looking great sigh
  14. yes, certainly looks cold on Thurs and Fri, winds too westerly for snow here, protected by Welsh mountains, northern and western areas to see a dumping though, through persistent showers from the Atlantic (Ireland) Irish sea NW England, before it turns milder from the west on Sat 14th
  15. not a polar low, but being modeled on GFS as a boxing day 2014 style event, or even a Nov 19th '96 event UKMO may go same way
  16. Yes, it looks quite good, Sat 14th though looking wet/mild, but FI, ECM is the one I prefer, turns very cold and dry after Saturday's rain, and possible thur eve, and Fri snow risk Thur at 9pm is when low level snow becomes possible, our best chance is early Fri am, certainly flurries possible, maybe dusting for low levels, could still do with setup just a little further West
  17. still looks decent on GFS, thicknesses okay, wind direction looks okay, but could do with this runner further South, as it's hill north event only, on this track
  18. like this one, modeled on 06Z for Friday 13th, not looking forward to wet weather
  19. this is the 'snow' window, on 06Z though make most of any flurries early on Friday 13th, definitely possible
  20. typical Friday 13th? looks like turning milder from the north during the day with rain, still way off yet, just what 06Z suggests
  21. no, it;'s just about okay, could do with setup further West though really, on a knife edge
