  1. I'll lower mine to 5.0°, cold start then v mild from 5th to 7th, then probably around average
  2. if anything I prefer the 12Z to the 06Z, 06Z was a rainfest for this location, 12Z looks cold and dry, with still hints of E'ly in deep FI, worse than 06Z though for those up a mountain (5th-9th)
  3. certainly is rubbish on 06Z unless you're up a mountain! very wet few days coming up from 6th, W Midlands, but all FI yet
  4. Agree with that, you're not wrong as that's what ECM is showing, seems realistic as well, what's the betting January 6th northerly will fail, a bit like ECM, expect shift east on GFS tomorrow
  5. today day of rime frost, very similar to Thurs 29th Dec '05, where next day turned milder with a whimper, still snowless winter here, not looking like any in next 2 weeks either
  6. just about decent, need shift west though really, need dark blue thicknesses for snow off N'lys, just about okay
  7. absolutely no way! even the experts say the 06Z is the least reliable of the 4 GFS runs, expect the 12Z to show toppler on 6-7 Jan, then back to square 1 with inversion highs, with milder air at times in north and west
  8. even I think they get less snow than they used to, but the chart I posted looks snowy there, before less cold air moves in on Tues 3rd
  9. Yes, agree, if I posted my 'beliefs' in there, I'd be accused of being a troll!, it's what makes a forum for heaven's sake, opinions make a forum my beliefs are that winters are getting less and less snowy as years go on, since approx '99, and everybody believes me, yes I have same opinions as Ian Brown, so what!
  10. typical 'snow event' though of the christmas pudding, just a bit of wet snow! best you can hope for, 200m asl oop norf, you have a chance, here though absolutely nothing
  11. I kinda actually wish it was mild! just while I have this cold, feel mild weather is better for colds etc but as I said earlier getting tired of this useless inversion stuff, if anything falls it will be pure rain, new years eve/day
  12. Getting a bit tired of inversion stuff now, think we all want the real deal, -8 and lower uppers, and really no sign of that on latest few GFS runs, apart from 2 Jan
  13. signs of Zonal train in FI, my prediction of 8th Jan start date may not be far off, 18Z was worse awful
  14. not quite, obviously snow is getting less and less, but even in 13-14 saw some on 11 Feb
  15. not a downgrade for us though, eastern snow looks like it may not happen now, I was just thinking snowfest for Sunderland, most of the east and Kent, we were not due snow
