If he wanted to build his reputation instead of destroy it, he would forecast mild winters all the time, more often than not, he would be correct.
if I was doing it, I would forecast stormy winters, flooding/gale damage every year

again, been on wrong side of NW/SE split, nice in NW and not 1 second of sun here, even rain early on
sigh, same tomorrow as well
-
-
Sigh, expecting another east/west split tomorrow, settled skies to the west, unsettled skies to the east, rain here too no doubt
-
still summer! never even thought about heating!, more like windows open/fans

Lovely day
thought you would be away from the eastern cloud, grim at times here, very unsettled looking E/SE, got a SE facing camera? would look ugly maybe

Another day of big temperature contrasts
Mid-teens under the cloud in the east and SE high teens / low 20's in the sunnier west, north of England and Scotland
yes, split was over me, unsettled skies to the east, settled skies to the west all day, became sunny later after 5pm, when moved in to clear sky to the west
-
I tend to think Sept more summery than June, even if Atlantic quiet, and a southerly, surely early 0ct warmer than an average early June

It's been good hasn't it If the summer months would have been May, August and September it would have been a good summer as a whole away from the NWIf September keeps this up it might top August. We shall see.
yes, was wondering that, has sept ever been warmest month of the year?

not a bad chart really due next Sat, on the 4th anniversary of the dreadful weather event, child of nadine (Karin)
-
still not all that nice though, with a definite east/west split over me, unsettled to the east, settled to the west, been mostly dull today
-
still expecting vile weather here later, can already see it to the east, clear here now, but feel not for long
-
hope so Frosty, never know, timed for Tuesday-thursday again, feels as though that makes it more likely to come off

Days like today are some of the best of the year IMO. It's 14C, overcast and breezy, which for me is nigh on perfect for wearing a t shirt and shorts when you're out and about. Feels very fresh, you can feel the wind passing over your skin and keeping you at a comfortable temperature. Overheating is not a problem, and neither is sweating. I also love to look up on days like today, seeing the clouds roll over and looking at the myriad patterns that can be seen within them as they do. Wonderful stuff, and we should have more to come in the weeks ahead. Then we have the first frosts to look forward to, and very quickly we will descend into Winter...
here is always windy, miles too windy here, my favourite Sept weather is that of last 4 days, never felt too hot,
-
hoping for more Summer gordon, 27th Sept hopefully something better, until friday when it's bound to break down
tomorrow looking vile, rain likely certainly morning
-
warm midweek again? too far in FI though

Just cold, cloudy and breezy. No idea what the fuss is. Put my T-shirts and shorts away yesterday under the knowledge that I probably won't need them again until April or May next year.. depressing. The departure of summer is always sad.
That being said, the outlook is decent enough with no Atlantic onslaught or deep low pressure systems barreling through. Hopefully we get very few storms this autumn - and most importantly, very little rain!!
share same thoughts as you about autumn, cannot understand anybody liking Atlantic storms, floods and gales,
