  1. Assume my area had loads, always did in those days!
  2. I'm sure there will be some kind of heat records broken between now and late March, then a cold below avg April
  3. It's Tuesday's washout that's being overlooked! could rival 25th Sept 2012, looks like deluge from 8am to 4pm
  4. in my area it was, winter ended on 30th Nov, after 2 snowy days 27/28 Nov
  5. Not much mention of Tuesday's washout on here? maybe because it's only affecting my area, many areas especially SE look like escaping
  6. An exact same setup in 2023 though, would be so much warmer, and no snow at all low levels south, and less in Scotland than in '84
  7. Expect this to become much more frequent, certainly from Nov to Mar, I expect many heat records broken of some kind every year
  8. 240 very ugly, no cold air for system to edge in to, opposite to this in '96, one of my snowiest days
  9. says 202 on your profile? 104 isn't great, have Cannock, Stoke, Walsall, Bham all around 180-200
  10. checked the 6th first, but more of a NW'ly airstream, not really a system from SW setup
  11. you mean dry I take it? EC looking decent for next Fri in FI, miserable stuff before then
  12. not surprised though! assume so far SE that whole of UK will be wet too under balmy temps
  13. Aye even in my cool childhood winters, early Nov was always snowless, way better to get the mild SW'lys now, Northerlies really only any use to parts of Scotland and 300+ asl, until about 20th or so
  14. reminds me a bit of 30th Dec '95! snowy Saturday that was, wonder if Stafford had any in Jan '82
  15. Classic wishbone effect, cold enough for snow everywhere except far SW, but dry away from coasts, Pembrokeshire dangler and usual Eastern coastal areas,
  16. Aye 3rd Jan that year LW Radio died, last show presented by Enda Caldwell on Thurs Dec 20th
  17. the days of huge snow events! remember 3 at least Jan '87, Dec 90 and Feb '91, one of them power went out and had to use candles, has to be one of these 3 events
