METO now giving scunny heavy snowfall through the night. It's changed so many times today. Happy if it stays like this now.

Reading up on the model discussion page it loos like we may be in for a BIGGER treat Sunday! Most of what's said on there goes straight over my head !!
Time to venture out soon and do some work!
-
Just a covering but has got a little heavier the last ten minutes. Making my 2-10 shift pleasant !
-
I've go my eye on that heavy patch currently between sheffield and derby! Hope I don't get that dreaded clear patch just to the south west though : /
Seems to run all the way down to Spalding all be that area you talk about seems the heaviest of that section.
-
So long as this front carries on pivoting then i think that Hull and York will begin to get hammered in the next few hours as the showers just stream over them.
Could you not include scunny in this
I really can not believe how out the bbc lunch time weather was!
-
Knock knock knocking on scunnys door.
Just getting tiny tiny snow flakes blowing around.

Is the main band of snow heading to north lincs , scunny or am I totally been a tool and seeing what I want to see and not what's actually happening.

I think that the BBC and other organisations that provide weather bulletins could learn from forecasters in the USA. The US forecasters generally start with the current radar image and then review its trajectory and intensity to provide a short term forecast for an area (even down to street level for serious events!). For snowfall and heavy rain the forecasters in Britain seem too reliant on what the computer says should be happening rather than what is currently happening.
Yesterdays fall was pretty much ignored by all organisations even though it was obvious from around 3pm that the area was expanding and intensifying.
So what you are saying is he radar images the bbc use or more the computer predictions and not actual live or recorded footage. That's shocking. Like you stated last nights snow was not and has still not really been mentioned by the bbc or met

Without getting too excited it seems to be even heading to north lincs unless it stalls slows or just bloody vanishes in to thin air lol
As I said it really does not look like what the bbc has just broadcast at 13:30
Am I wrong to be getting a little bit excited or am I just expecting something that will just not happen.
Meant to be working but can not take my eyes off rain today lol
-
Why does the bbc image of the potential snow look nothing like what can be seen on rain today?
Might just be my lack of knowledge or misinterpretation but it looks totally different!!
-
Scunny not as cold, -2 at best over night.
Hoping that we get snow today of some sorts
-
Everyone is waiting with anticipation. I think it's got to a stage now where it's sit and wait for the next 24-48hrs.
-
Wednesday are playing wolves are they not?
Think it will be called off more for fans safety than on the pitch conditions.
Never forget when we played York city away many yeas ago and they had to stop the match every ten minutes to clear the pitch. Brill except we lost 5-1 feb 27 1993!!!! Scunny crap then crap now. Lol

At work at moment and by looking at recent posts things my ave changed a little for the better for this region. Can anyone p,ease inform me how it's looking for north lincs and scunny as I'm out n about in the sticks and my signal isn't good enough to monitor the current situation and also Fridays /weekends situation. Any chance we may get some of this snow building in the area tonight or will it just miss my town??
Keeping everyone crossed and even better I've managed to get Sunday Monday and Tuesday off work.
Keep the faith

Snow showers will not develop off the North Sea this weekend. Forecasters have made this clear so it's either this band tomorrow or nothing I'm afraid.
Oh okay. When would they if at all ever!!!
-
You have had more than here mate lol. I think it is pretty unlikely the band will move further east unfortunatly. Better luck tomorrow and over the weekend hopefully.
Think we will not get much with the west low but may get something from North Sea through Saturday n Sunday. Met n bbc forecast totally changed with a vastly reduced period of snow here in scunny. But anything could happen from now until Sunday so positive thinking lol
-
Any chance this band of snow now will move over scunny. Only had the odd flake blowing in the breeze
-
Which way is that unexpected precipitation moving. It's really hard to tell on my mobile.
-
looks good for us
From past vids I've watched of the great man he always seems to be a day behind when forecasting giving yesterday's version of events today if you know what I mean.
-
Weatherweb.net saying the cold spell old last well into feb 10-15!
Where can I watch the radar? Newbie here.
-
GFS 12z keeps the heavy snow over Yorkshire AND Lincolnshire - phew!
It's getting heavier here for sure!
Is that north lincs as well. Is this from the latest runs????
-

Do you think the heavier snow will get in to scunny like the METO are predicting from early hours onwards. I'm on a double tomorrow. 5am start. Could be fun !!??
