This will probably get deleted but...

The gloating and gleeful showing of the mild breakdown charts is a bit weird.

Fair enough if you like mild but surely it's alarm bells ringing as the climate gets further and further away from "seasonal norms", looks a bit like celebrating your own funeral to me.

Going to be using the ignore function on this forum for the first time in a few years since I've lurked about.

It's perfectly acceptable and indeed necessary to put forward alternative views in a debate about modelling and forecasts but as bad as some are for over egging the snowmageddon pudding the over the top mild frenzy makes me cringe quite a lot.

I'm but a new uneducated quiet voice on this forum but I don't doubt there will be a few lurkers like me recoiling at the glee a mild breakdown has seemingly thrown up for some folk in here.

The ignore button is the best thing until someone quotes the ignored😂. I have been here too many winters to get carried away with the rampers who comment and get excited on every chart/model (usually 10 days away). Personally, I have so many people ignored there isn't much to read this time of year because the people that really know what they are talking about also disappear to make room for the pages and pages of Exacta Weather type comments… then I know its going to be a non event !

Newington this morning. Roads in Swale are awful although I’ve read that Medway is clearer.

Hi, just to confirm Rainham and Gillingham (near big Tesco) all seem ok, roads are clear and safe. The paths are dodgy mind you,  just watched someone jogging  (why?) who nearly slipped on a bend . We are only a few miles from you yet the difference in accumulations is vast! Glad you did well though...

  3. Time to bale out!

Trolls, negativity, pessimism.... can’t deal with it.... but I’ve been waiting for it!

I’ve been happy for everyone else the last few weeks, seeing their photos and happiness...... hopefully our time now after two years of nothing!

But time to get out of here and will rely on window watching! Thanks guys who have been excited and made this a great forum the last 48 hours!

A few posts have been hidden, can we please post in a kind and respectful manner. There is no need for personal attacks.

Are you serious? I presume the post just now that pointed out a ‘fact’ that Maidstone didn’t get any snow has been removed because it wasn’t respectful? I didn’t read anything in that post that was rude or disrespectful it was just a fact, some folks make false claims unintentionally I sure but you can’t favour one over another?

  5. Well that’s then according to the Net Weather Winter Forecast, above average temperatures for Christmas and New Year.  Answers the debate about whether there should be a return to a hunt for cold forum, apparently a hunt for mild would be more suitable. On a positive note saves me getting obsessed with catching up during the next couple of months in the hope for snow!
All my fun over, back in February with fingers crossed.

  6. What an evening! Totally unexpected.... one minute I’m reading all your reports of snow thinking, well that’s not happening here! Chucking it down with rain, checked the met forecast, they said rain too....

Then out of bloody nowhere....  it’s snowing and laying!  At that point decided to buoycot net weather, in case it would jinx me!  All the time I hang on to every post and believe  nothing happens!

It’s melting now judging by the sound of a rain forest.... but I’ll never forget that.....and nobody saw that coming, just goes to show......

  7. We are left with frozen slushy snow on patio table, cars and patches of snow on the grass this morning. I was happy to see at 6.30 this morning Meto gave us in rainham Kent  two snow flakes over a period of 4 hours tomorrow evening but an hour later it’s down to one snowflake and sleet.... hey ho, I’m sure it will change hourly....
