The big snows in the SE started in late November 2010 I recall, snowed last November too in a northerly, albeit didn’t settle for long. Although November snow less common than later in winter, still happens.
November 30th around 9pm 2010 the snow started in Medway. Stuck in my brain as we just moved to new house!

Amber warning was a panic reaction to what happened a couple weeks back, nothing but a light dusting here.
Positive thinking! It’s snowing heavily now in Gills..?

I keep hearing the news saying there has only ever been one red warning before this event and that was wales 2013, but I’m pretty sure London/Essex was issued a red warning in 2010? Anyone else remember?..can tell there is no snow falling here in Leigh ?
Yes I thought the same for south east in 2010. I’m sure we got a red warning about an hour before the event!

Im really not complaining folks, we have done brilliantly, just looking at the current data at it seems this particular event is finished for most of Kent!
Off again.... surprised after the “you’re not feeling it” for any snow in Medway on Monday.

Wow, this thread has gone down hill and miserable..... more depressing than a week of wet and windy 'guaranteed' weather which i'm pretty confident you will be happy with next week.
I'm off..
-
Cracks me up, we spend most days from November on this site every year hoping exactly for this chance! One person gets a bit negative and its like lemmings....
Come on.... keep up the positivity, the run up is the exciting bit?
I'll let you be fed up at the end of the week if it didn't happed for you (or me)...

What would that be?
I don’t know how to do a quote to a different thread, sorry, so it’s copy and paste but just so you know I’m usually glass half full and certainly don’t want to dampen any excitement as I’ve been waiting ages for our turn! this was from TEITS:
On a different note I do feel sorry for those in the far SE though i.e Kent. Whilst the snow showers will continue during Wed onwards for N England/Scotland, the convective days for the far SE only appear to be Mon/Tues due to the flow veering ESE,ly. The likes of Norfolk, Suffolk and maybe Essex may still pick up a few snow showers.
-
For the first time I’m now concerned after what TEITS has added to the mad thread!

There's a strong English bias because most posters are English. It is what it is and it's refreshing when posters discuss the UK as a whole and some do but plenty don't.
I was thinking exactly the same a couple of weeks ago when the last lot of snow and cold was being delivered day after day......Are they talking about the whole of the UK? Obviously not..... but hey we’re used to it!

Maybe because they get a kick out of a reaction?

CK can i ask what you want. We are on the cusp of snow. Probably the first region wide snow for at least 5 years. The mild sector thursday has gone. By all accounts the strat is getting stronger and stronger warming. If you think itd going to be a 3 day cold shot think again its modelled for 14 days..... the dew points drop like a stone this afternoon
Take my advice and use the ignore users in your settings......

Heavy cold rain!?! Lovely Monday morning.

It was sleat here at 7.10am and a temp of 1.0. I dropped my son to work at 7.30 and the sleat turned to heavy snow and temp dropped to 0.5. Yeah!

I've really missed you TEITS. As a learner and still a learner I always looked forward to your posts as they seemed to me to be the most reliable and balanced. I've been really put off by all this recent bickering ansdwas thinking of taking a break from this site for a few days until things calmed down - that is unless you are going to be posting on here! Thanks.
Take it from me, you won't take a break. I say the same every year, you will get the hump as things don't go the way you want them too. You will hang on to every word as the ramping to cold gets to fever pitch and just wait for the cards to come tumbling down As for taking a break, you will be sneaking back in, you just won't be able to help yourself, its a winter addiction!

Cold hunt - models and chat
in Spring Weather Discussion

I’m struggling to see why the model thread was divided... because this thread is much the same as the last (which is fine) unless of course someone stupidly mentions zonal, mild or rain. The other thread seems to be dedicated to Knocker?
