Silent rage ? I'm still preparing myself psychologically for cold hard rain all day! Can be no dissapoints then!

There have been shifts south though. For those of us in the south Midlands/home counties these subtle shifts are making all the difference!
Either way, the north Midlands are getting a pasting tomorrow.
Tell me about it! Always on the fringe of any action! #westoxon

i'm seeking sanctuary in here today....the mindless IMBYism and over analysis in the MAD thread of the north/south snowline movement of 35 inches per run is starting to do my swede in
MAD thread might implode before the slider arrives at this rate!
Lovely frosty morning out there, sunny, temp currently 0

Highly irritating living West of Oxford! Always just on edge of any weather warning issued. Its like living in a weather black hole! Of course im unlikely to get any sympathy here as barely part of south west anyway but feels good to rant ?

No snow overnight for me however surrounding areas had a very very light covering. Nice little flurry on the way to work which gave a light dusting on top of the dry stone walls. Radar shows a thin band of ppn heading over oxford so might see a few more snowflakes!

Radar showing a nice squall line to the E - SE of Oxford heading towards London.
I'm currently just north of Oxford...can confirm first hand that it absolutely hammered down for a few minutes! Brightened up nicely now. Will head out for a breath of fresh air soon to see what the temp is like.

yes, tensions are rather high. I just got attacked for a comment on the GFS run. Luckily i have thick skin
Its ridiculous! Having a meltdown over another persons opinion on something generated by a computer that may or not happen.
Thing is, chasing the charts is half the fun. If you actually get anything out of it then its a bonus! Great thing is Winter has only just started and we are talking about snow already. If the South West misses out this time, plenty more shots to come.

The MOD thread is getting very emotional, as much as I want snow its highly amusing...all out slider civil war!

You've jumped off the fence and landed in my garden! I hope you're right! ?

Well this is all getting a bit tasty isnt it! So much so that I have decided to unlurk. Have been reading the MOD with great interest and it would appear that the West Oxon Snow Defence System will shortly be deployed ? I hope it fails hard! Good luck everyone ?

Very very light snow around Oxford. Hopefully it will pep up a bit as it won't be around long looking at the radar!
-
Awesome ice crystal pattern on the car roof! Will have to get a photo in the morning. Might get covered in a dusting of snow though!

The West Oxon snow shield strikes again!! Wonder if any of those showers to the north west will make it this far?
-
Flickering lights may be caused by snow settling on power lines/trees causing contact and arcing?

Been sleety but that's it. Might get lucky overnight!
-
Heavier rain now near Oxford airport, 5c. Grey and bleak!
-
Light rain here. Wife has phoned and reported that teachers at my daughters school have been talking to the kids about the snow!
I purposely didn't mention it to my daughter as there is a decent chance of nothing! Could be some disappointed faces but hopefully not!
-
Guarantee the cold/warm air boundary to be somewhere near my house and I'll be on the tropical side
-
Tropical here. Thinking about firing up the BBQ
-
Light rain here although it does feel colder now. Probably a little too far west for snow unfortunately.
-
Nice to see my area within a yellow warning! Believe it when I see it though as this region seems to repel all interesting weather!

Morning guys. Snowing gently here in Witney...about an inch on the ground by the looks of it!
