  1. Coming down again here now too. Now the fronts pivoting it looks like it could do with pushing a bit further North to get the last few hours out of it cus it looks like theres still some moderate ppn in there if it has the energy to reach us.
  2. Awesome pics DB, looks like you did very well, enjoy it. METO are giving the chance of snow for Mon,Tue and Weds for parts of the region so it could be a good week.
  3. Very nice PIT, looking at your pics i bet some people were awoken by the sound of scraping shovels. Looks like your about to get some more snow.
  4. Dont forget to feed the birds, when its cold and snowy they need to eat around 1/3rd of their body weight a day, deep snow makes it difficult for them to find food on the ground and they use more energy searching for it. Just chuck some bread in the snow or anything you got, they'll find it, the greedy Starlings will defo find it so the rest will be close behind them. The front is pivoting again, the feed looks like its pushing through Belgium into Holland to flow W-N/W, have to see how it pans out, METO have not downgraded as of yet and other sources are still stating favourable conditions to early evening. Still snowing here but i wouldn't mind seeing the end of it and that wind dropping cus its bloody freezing, still --0.6C and icicles forming where its dripping.
  5. You cant be disappointed though, not after getting 2+ foot of snow last month when winter storm Nemo rolled in.
  6. Awesome, did the snow fall in when you opened the door? Mines up to the letterbox so i've avoided opening it so far, its too early and cold for indoor snow clearing.
  7. "cant wait to see the pics of the deep snow in the NE of the region........ oh wait they didnt get any" LoL, OK, you were right about the further South and West the better. You're a good sport Steve.
  8. I'm on MeteoRadar and it seems to be glitching to the north of us but north is irrelevant. The front has been opening up patches and closing them through the night, it looks no different to how its been since 2am. If it opens up over the top of us and it stops snowing then its game over. As it stands theres a constant stream of dark echos being fed into our area, METO still have it to mid afternoon and other sources are showing up to this evening for our area, we shall see.
  9. Theres plenty more snow left in the front, its really coming down here and the radar is full of darker echos. Theres a constant stream of dark echos coming over the North Sea out of Belgium to feed our area. Its now been snowing constantly for 31.5hrs, thats the longest prolonged spell i can remember experiencing in the UK.
  10. I'm not even going to attempt a snowfall total as it would be inaccurate, theres no area unaffected by the wind and drifting. I should of put a box out the back in a sheltered area and stuck the gauge in it. Snows getting heavier now with flake size increasing, a convoy of tooled up heavy farm vehicles and JCB360's are heading into the town center so the clean up is underway. There will be a mountain in TESCO car park after they clear this lot up, i need to go up later so i'll take some pics. HEAVY SNOOOOOW
  11. Holy WoWzers, am snowed in, front yard is buried by a drift up to the letterbox. 2010's 48cm is safe so far but 2009 has been destroyed. The main Sheffield Road is a single track from the plough and the path has been buried by drifts up the wall. Everythings covered with fluffy white snow pillows sculpted by the wind, i woke up at 3:50am and the room was bright orange, looked out the window and it was hammering it down. --1.1C and i'm going nowhere. https://forum.netweather.tv/gallery/image/17817-fluffy-pillows/ https://forum.netweather.tv/gallery/image/17816-img-20130323-084434/
  12. Its very light snow here now, the lightest its been in 23hrs of constant snowfall. The fronts really changing shape now, will be interesting to see how the pivot pans out. Spoke too soon, the snows picked up again and the wind with it. Still --1.0C
  13. The latest tests on TESCO meat have found Welsh Lamb containing human DNA.
  14. Get yourself over, theres so many new faces turning up in the village since house prices have dropped, theres new houses and estates being built all around the village (small town) I live on Sheffield Road, 2 bed stone terrace houses that fetched £110k a few tears ago are now selling for 65-70k, nice warm solid houses too. A lot are being bought to LET as they fetch £400-£450pcm. The best thing is its a snow magnet.
  15. I bet he's using the mobile so it doesn't give that information, even our Adams not that stupid.
  16. Cheers Adam mate, love you too my brother from another mother Pichachu
  17. I've lived over this way for 9yrs now and i've seen some awesome snow but when you listen to the locals talk about past winters it makes you realise that this is nothing in comparison. I've seen photo albums full of pics where the snows been up to the top of the door frames and tunnels have been dug out between the houses and the shops. Also Penistone High Street under stomach deep snow and drifts as high as houses in Thurgoland, crazy amounts of snow. I'm sure theres a couple of farms down Wharncliffe woods way so the farmers might have kept the roads clear, local farmers come through here in their tractors in the middle of the night when the roads get bad and then help out with the clearing with JCB's. You can always park up on the main road if its bad and walk it, although i'm sure you would be walking and your daughter sat on the sledge being pulled.
  18. Its looking like that in my back yard now, big fluffy white cushions on top of everything, apart from the shed roof cus the wind blows it off.
  19. Cheers mate. So its going to keep feeding from the South then and not pivot at all? Edit: Just read your post above about a possible pivot.
