    Cu been bubbling up here for the last couple of hours, strong sunshine, light winds and to be fair feels very hot out.

    Hit 33C here on the station and another max min thermo in a very well insulated shed/building hit 33.8C, seems they are having some decent storms up North, currently 22.8C here. Do we think they'll be anything today, storm wise in the South West?

    Yes, depressing isn't it!!!! At least someone is benefitting from all this heat!! We may be lucky and catch a shower/storm today down this way!

    Had it here a couple of years ago, stunning lightening display and plenty of noise, just sat outside and watched it, never saw a drop of rain or any evidence of any falling from the cloud.

    A few small cu building now but dissipating fairly quickly, over 32C here now.

    I take it the lower, more fine cloud is sea mist/fog?

    Yes, noticed that too. 32 C here now, not especially pleasant to be working outside in. Did notice earlier in the morning, one solitary cu build with a few haze caps about but all blue now.

    I would think, head up the M4, then A419/417 towards M5, good spot up by the Air Balloon roundabout (on the Cotswold edge, so good views), from there you could then go up the M5 if needed or head onto the A49 to Hereford and then up to the A5, you'd be well North West of Brum then.

    Pretty humid around here today, a couple of very small showers earlier this morn but total cloud cover here with convection occurring under the blanket.

    Very unstable today here, clouds building up very quickly, reckon showers will be kicking off here within the next hour or less

    Torrential shower here, no sparks or bangs but it's certainly coming down.

    These showers are very heavy, just having my second one of the day, torrential rain here now.

    Its' been a miserable totally overcast day here all day, slight convection going on under the top cover and a few very dark areas/bases but that's it. Not expecting anything ce soir but good luck to those further East.

    Total cloud cover here, no sign of the sun, convection is occurring under the greyness however.

    I could see the huge cloud tops over your way from here, most amazing to watch, all the tops bright white, lit up by the sun. Only wish I had my camera.

    Yup I think you're right, some stunning cloudscapes from here, the tops well lit up by the sun, gorgeous!!

    Sun out here now, very convective, so here's hoping!

    Complete cloud cover here, no sign of any breaks yet but am sure it'll clear. Hope to have a decent one today after being on the edge of a couple of storms this week. Good luck to all.

    Nice storm passed through here 10 or so mins ago, plenty of lightening, power went off for a short while, all quiet now. Some amazing cloudscapes today looking North.

    Wouldn't bet on it!!!! Torrential rain here now but not a flash or bang in sight!

    Nice big storm passed North of here, a fair bit of T&L observed, it was the cell that went over Cheltenham, flooding there by all accounts.

    Can hear rumbles now but suspect the Cheltenham cell will pass well to the North of me.

    The top I wrote about a short while ago is the cell that is passing over Gloucester/Cheltenham, plenty of T&L according to Lightening map

    Huge tower well to the North of here, could only really see it as the top was outflowing, very dark to the North also. Have plenty of sun here and decent convection and also a decent strong wind to boot.
