Seems to be losing quite a bit of intensity
Just started coming down
-
I was surprised when I looked out and saw that, I hadn't checked the radar since about lunchtime and I wasn't expecting anything tonight.
Looks like there is a bigger shower heading this way.
Just spied that one, it might just slip a touch south, hopefully not.....guess we'll find out in about 30 mins

10cm's in just over an hour, place is at a standstill.
-
omg! what a suprise, today i was in my car and i thought hmmmm a dusting is all we are guna get out of this.... by the coast and nosnow forecast until tomorrow, then tonight came and the showers kept coming and coming, now a heavy cover on the floor! Crazy Stuff!!!
Cant wait until sunday when we should double whats already here, so happy:D
Nothing inland tonight, still 3" lying from yesterday.

Only took me an extra 5 mins to come from Stanley to Consett. There's much more snow up here than in Stanley.
Just had a nice shower but I can't see us getting much more today.
I traveled from Consett to Byker, the low road through Ebchester & Rowlands Gill was pretty bad, there must have been a bump further on as I sat for 30 mins without moving just going into Rowlands Gill, so I dived off and went through Winlaton Mill, once I got down into Blaydon the roads were clear.
-
the back roads are a mess here.
The main roads aren't much better, took me 1hr 50 mins to get to work
-
Still coming down, main roads are shocking, yet again Durham County Council fail to provide a service. I'm sure they just don't even bother coming up here
-
I'm not even looking out here anymore, I can't take my eyes off the situation in the SE. Seems like everyone in the SE and EA is having power problems! It's crazy, going to be big news in the morning. Wish we would get something like that, maybe Monday!
Thing is I've got twice as much depth wise in my garden compared to what they are reporting down south, you'd think it was Armageddon
-
Coming down heavy and the wind has picked right up.

3.3 and just had a light rain/drizzle shower in North Leeds ... clear now and expecting a slow decrease in temp before any more showers move in .... I dont really expect to see any flakes until mid afternoon tomorrow though !

Is there an echo in here?

it's down to 2.8c now with plenty precip, but it's still sleety rain.
Let me know when it starts snowing at yours, then I'll know its not far away
-
ive just upgraded from radar to full subscription bloody hell there's some gear on there lol.
Just look out your front window for the black clouds heading our way, its a lot cheaper
-
Get the bread and milk in, just wait till the media start ramping this up, all the old dears will be fighting each other in the supermarket isles
-
Anybody know what its like in Consett? I'm in Byker at the moment and toying with the idea of heading home shortly.
Also how long is this band of precipitation likely to be over us for?

Matty, the recent cold spell we have just had the charts showed us 10 days previous it would be mild, there is plenty time for things to change.....I think your just a little bitter as you banged on for days about how much snow you where going to get and guess what happened
-
Well after such a disappointing 24 hours the models arent cheering me up either
Where did it all go wrong Matty? 48hrs ago you were going to get the biggest snowfall in the history of mankind
-
Poor old Northerners. There was never any chance of snow for Northern areas, this has been showing as a southern event for many days.
Did you see SUNDAY's Countryfile forecast? they were going for a Northern snow event
And as for your "Poor old Northerners" remark I class that as racial abuse <_<
-
Carol Kirkwood has just done our regional forecast up till Friday, and she went for a few snow showers on Wednesday, dry and bright Thursday and Friday
-
One bad run and all hell breaks loose
-
Consett County Durham......12 inches....dont ask me what that is in cm's
