    We’ll if this is wrong GFS 144hrs there’s not much point watching the rest of the run UKMO flirting with a brief chilly northerly at 144hrs. Better than nothing

    Just reading the Strat thread (and the snails pace of the the trop response to the SSW) and the MO update looks like we will have to wait until post Jan 25th for any HLB now. If Feb delivers the cold weather most want it will be worth the wait.

    Outlook for the UK over the next 6-30 days UK Outlook for Tuesday 8 Jan 2019 to Thursday 17 Jan 2019: A cold north to northwesterly flow is likely to dominate early next week, with showers or perhaps more organised rain at times, mainly affecting northern and eastern areas, perhaps turning wintry over northern hills. You need to read the outlook to comment on it. And there it is! Interesting upgrades today

    Didn’t want to post this in the main mod thread as it would get deleted but the overnight MO outlook has downgraded again to say ‘This cold spell is by no means certain though’ This is a new sentence! Looks like they can’t say for sure the SSW will impact us

    It’s quite clear the HP will sink and then we will get some serious amplification around 15th jan onwards. I’m as impatient as all on here but 15th Jan onwards the fun starts. The MO are superior in this situation. Jan week 3, polish off the sledge.
