  1. Yes, but s getting pushed back and back. Starting to think it'll never actually arrive. Friend of mine is in the emergency planning dept down here and has sent me a photo of an update they've received from the Met O...looks unlike most of he output being modelled. Only sent to him today as well so not using old data. We shall see...
  2. Notice that the usual suspect rags like the Faily Express have been shouting about 20cm of snow for the whole country...that's probably that then!
  3. Yes, much more marginal for us down here...would be cruel to miss out again, but c'est la vie. We can come back in the summer and boast of our maxima...!
  4. This was never going to be a nice, smooth coast into the weekend without any issues, was it?! Must remind myself to not get hung up on every run...doesn't help when I'm working from home and have this page open with the sound effect of each post!
  5. Yes, that has to be at the back of ALL our minds before telling children, friends, work colleagues etc! It doesn't help that I keep seeing @That ECM posting!
  6. I spent Christmas in the local area (Nethy Bridge) in 2017. Beautiful part of the world. We had snow from Boxing Day and took a trip up to that cafe. -15 with the wind chill!
  7. Is that a METRE of snow for the Cairngorms?! How cruel for the Scottish ski industry that this should happen in a national lockdown
  8. Wow. I was up until the early hours looking at all this and opened my phone with one hand over my eyes, expecting to see massive downgrades, but just wow. The fact we are starting to see degrees of cross model agreement is encouraging, but we've still seen it go wrong from here...I'm almost dreading that feeling of crushing disappointment that comes with overnight washing away of the amazing synoptics in offer...but until then it's nice to dream. Fingers crossed for all my fellow South Eastern chums and for all further afield.
  9. Unfortunately, although I don't post much in here, I've been a lurker for so many years that I've seen these levels of excitement way too many times to allow myself to dream at the moment. I've seen it look nailed on as far as T96 and still go wrong, so until I see the white stuff piling up against my front door, I'll remain sceptical. Nice to see though, nonetheless!
  10. Sorry to break this to you, mate, but they had to cancel Jim'll Fix It...
  11. Oh yeah, of course we are. Anything to keep snow away from our corner of the country seems to have happened this winter so far!
  12. Thought that was what the regional pages were for. Anyone would think this was the Stoke & Leicester show...!
  13. I put more faith in the fax charts than anything the models churn out.
  14. Do you live in the Midlands mate? You should have said!
  15. Yes, and the not too distant memory of that low pressure system which, at one point, ECM had up to 15cm for the south east...ended up drifting south and missing us completely.
  16. Nice to see the Colchester snow shield in full operation there! Ha ha!
  17. Crazy how localised it was. Where I live (just north of Colchester) we had a good inch at least. I texted my colleagues in Suffolk to say something along the lines of "drive safely", got to work just outside Ipswich and there was barely anything! We did get torrential huge flakes, but far too warm by that point to settle. My two boys, aged 9 and 6, had fun playing in the garden this morning and my 1 year old daughter was amazed by it. Let's hope there's more to come but what a lovely, festive treat.
  18. About a cm here just north of Colchester. Lovely to wake up to. Won't be here long, but the kids are absolutely buzzing!
  19. It's been the worst period of model watching since I joined six or seven years ago. I've seen nothing to even make me hint to friends and work colleagues that there's anything exciting around the corner. It really comes to something when I'm getting excited about a bit of wind!
  20. Wow, FOUR exclamation marks, Shaky!! You must be excited!! (Sorry, back to the models!)
  21. I've never known a winter like this where a series of snow events all over the South East can just completely miss me here in North Essex. Some sort of sick joke! I was pleased for everyone who got loads last night but it's just peeing me off now to hear of MORE coming down everywhere in the South East except here! This winter can do one.
