  1. Got a few more hitting Southend that so hopefully hit the Medway region. Just had a heavy shower which has finally given a covering. Wainscott, Medway.
  2. Cell over South End and Estuary about to hit the Hoo Peninsula. Might get something from that although suspect it'll hit Gravesham. Wainscott, Medway
  3. Got a dusting here in Wainscott (NW Medway). Main action just 10 miles east of me although will hopefully change soon.
  4. Seems to be snowing to the east, west and south of me. Haha. Can't complain, such is the nature of showers. Fingers crossed for tonight. Wainscott, Medway.
  5. Fingers crossed the streamer on the radar hits here (Medway) then back builds!
  6. Just had a light snow shower here. It' weird to see it evaporate almost as soon as it falls in places (can't be melting surely, given it's -1c!). Wainscott, Medway.
  7. I wouldn't worry too much. The lower 850's are incoming. In any case even of there was precip around it would fall as snow and settle given the DP's.
  8. Will miss some of the contributions from the slightly more northern folk, especially now flurries are being reported in EA. Clouding over here. Going forward, Would be nice for all of us using phones/some tablets if we could put our locations at the end of our posts. Optimistic for a dusting here tonight but wouldn't be surprised either way as the main action starts tomorrow afternoon. Location: Wainscott, Medway.
  9. Thanks! Here's hoping they change they change their tune in time for Countryfile.
  10. Absolutely bewildered by the recent BBC Weather forecast, like many others here. What info are they/meteogroup looking at? Barely even a mention for SE England.
  11. No worries. They're being quite conservative for SE regarding amount of showers etc although it looks like a snow fest further north. Albeit they don't show a chart for Wednesday.
  12. Think it's this forecast https://www.bbc.co.uk/weather/features/43184987
  13. Is there a link to a video of this forecast or is it just the forecast on News 24 every 30 minutes?
  14. Nice to see you still on the forums kold. I remember you posting back in 2005 etc. How time has flown! I'm mostly a lurker. Yeah someone will be very lucky I guess. Interesting to note, this chart gave me 6 Inches with 8/9 towards Dartford.
  15. Nice to see some of the more experienced posters getting excited about the prospects for NW Kent/SE London. Countryfile forecast will be interesting tomorrow. I imagine when it comes to Friday it'll become rather vague. I'm hoping for 6 inches here by Thursday/Friday. I would guess anything between 3-10 depending on how lucky/unlucky I am. Location: Strood, Medway.
  16. Although it's not advisable to predict exactly where/when/how much snow there will be, it's always fun to predict. Looking at XC weather based on the 06Z GFS my location is looking at 20CM+ by this time next week. All subject to change though of course.
  17. Don't often post, although have been a member since 2004(!). Some amazing charts. The GFS06z is particularly good with near constant snow from Monday onwards. Am in Medway for those of us using phones to view the site. Even without good synoptics an ENE wind can deliver. I remember 8th of Jan 2003 didn't look particularly impressive synoptically but gave us 6 inches of snow and 9 inches further west around Bluewater/Dartford. Was very localised though as those in southern Medway barely received a covering. Anyway, the point being that the incredible charts we're seeing could deliver even more and be widespread.
  18. God I hate having a NW facing bedroom. It is boiling in here!! The temp rising in Gravesend really shows the effect of that Estuary breeze. Highest temp of the day!
  19. Winds have turned more SE rather than E from earlier which was pegging down the temps along the Thames Estuary. 35C at Gravesend at 18:00.
  20. Not sure how rare or impressive a triple rainbow is but my friend just snapped this.
  21. Something was definitely brewing as it was passing over. Definitely some rotation. Can't get a visual on it anymore though.
  22. Third storm of the day just beginning here. Plenty of strikes over Canvey island way. Crazy, the hail still hasn't melted from earlier!
  23. Birds still tweeting here. Definitely getting darker or rather less light.
