  1. Jeez, XCWeather has my neareast location (Gravesend) at 100% humidity. Is that normal? I guess because it's so misty the air is saturated with moisture?
  2. Some videos and pictures from the Brighton area of the storm over the channel. http://www.brightonandhovenews.org/2014/09/19/electrical-storm-lights-up-skies-off-brighton-coast/35503?utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=twitter Some great suff there. No we know what EML saw.
  3. Take a look at http://www.lightningmaps.org/realtime?lang=en if you can. The strikes are atleast 30km away so maybe that's why you can't hear thunder? Also, I'm insanely jealous since I used to live in Brighton and work on the pier (a perfect viewing point right now I imagine!).
  4. There seems to be a few 'false positive' strikes showing up on the lightning map at the moment in Kent and Sussex. The strikes show up and then dissapear within a few minutes instead of the usual 60. The stuff over the channel right now is unbelievably slow moving.
  5. There's been a strike on the north of the Hoo peninsula. Here's hoping something might pop up here soon.
  6. Wishing for something here. Went for a 15 minute walk and it's so sultry and humid outside. The storm over London seemed to come out of nowhere so fingers crossed for here!
  7. Posted on Twitter apparently showing Calgary. According to Matt Hugo there was a 23 degree difference in temp in 24 hours. From 25C to 2C.
  8. Rained most of yesterday, started raining at 9.30 this morning and hasn't stopped since. A thoroughly miserable two August days.
  9. Missed most of the action from the storms that affected Kent now moving into the Thames estuary.A splattering of storms stretching from London to Portsmouth is heading NE so hoping for a hit from them!
  10. To be honest, I really didn't know thunder could travel that far? The neareast recent strike has been Maidstone.I swear in the past there have been strikes much closer (as seen from the lightning map) and I haven't heard a thing.
  11. Hearing some rumbles here now. Interesting that the lightning map isn't showing any immediate strikes near my area. http://www.lightningmaps.org/realtime?lang=en
  12. Hearing some distant rumbles of thunder hear. Looks like there's a storm intensifying on the North Kent peninsula.
  13. This is incredible stuff here. Lightning every 5-10 secs. Very little thunder though, not sure why?
  14. Amazing here! I took these pics just as the wind picked up. Funnel cloud? (I'm a complete amatuer so proably wrong).ETA: The pics are terrible quality!
  15. Haven't hear anything here yet in Strood/Frindsbury, loopydreamerETA: Now I have
  16. Is that radar predicting ahead? (Bit confused of the times show) If so it looks like the western flank intensifies as it hits land? Could be great for E Sussex and Kent. I may be too far west for anything too good.
