  1. I asked Chris Fawkes about the previous chart posted and chances of it reaching Yorks. He said,
  2. Big heavy flakes in NW Leeds. Road covered in no time. Glad I took half a day off and came home early! Rush hour will be grim.
  3. Cookridge weather station measuring - 5.2c and - 10c dewpoint.
  4. Feed the beast! Beast needs moisture. Nom nom nom
  5. If you're in Leeds I wouldn't expect much after this current band of snow. Looks quiet for an hour or two.
  6. Yeah I noticed a little bit of mounting precipitation as they've got further inland.
  7. The BBC was spot on with the weather early in the week. They said light snow and they were right. MetO went with heavy snow and an amber warning. Today the MetO was right with the call of heavy snow (but in a yellow warning!), the BBC went for light snow and was clearly wrong. (Your mileage may vary!).
  8. Ian Fergusson said yesterday that he doesn't have much faith in the weather apps (not even the BBC one - note that's apps, not website information.)
  9. For Leeds (North West) Met Office going with chances of heavy snow early this afternoon, whilst BBC saying not and going for chances in early evening. They've both been wrong and right so far, so who knows!
  10. Well ive turned round and come home. Traffic in Leeds was moving but long queues. Sadly Ive got to go up hill towards Headingley and im not going to even bother with that. I got to Kirkstall Morrisons and turned round and came home. Still barrelling it down!
  11. Coming down heavy in NW Leeds, roads not covered yet and as we all know it's not bad until the roads are gone!
  12. Currently fairly medium to heavy snow in NW Leeds.
  13. *stares intently over top of glasses* You're quite right. Lines. Everywhere.
  14. A heavy shower just ran through the middle of Leeds. Pretty cool. More of that please
  15. Ive called in the army. Hold tight, help is on the way. Repeat. Hold tight and dont eat any yellow snow.
  16. Snow showers coming in off the coast are losing a good deal of their intensity as they get in land this morning.
  17. BBC vs. Met Office for tomorrow for my area (NW Leeds). BBC follows Met Office yellow warning yet their actual forecast, yet again, doesn't follow it. Given last night/this morning's snowfall they'd be right not to and I'd expect the BBC one to be correct. Question is how can the Met Office think there will be 5 hours or heavy snow and the BBC just 3 hours of light snow showers with sunshine? Edit: Even more strange is that the Met Office issued an amber warning for last night with less snow than they expect tomorrow, which only deserves a yellow one.
  18. Snowing fairly heavily in NW Leeds which kind of undermines the radar, but the settling is patchy. Roofs yes, grass in places, roads no. Looks like my BBC app was correct with the timings over the Met Office. They're getting settling snow further north so will see. Back to sleep!
