  1. i know a few people on the east coast especially hull, they are getting a good hammering, but slightly further north towards whitby they have bugger all. just had a quick look at meto satellite, look at that band of snow heading westwards. http://www.metoffice.gov.uk/satpics/latest_uk_ir.html
  2. http://www.metoffice.gov.uk/weather/uk/nw/...st_weather.html they report heavy snow, yet there is no heavy snow lol
  3. am looking at the netweather radar and there are 1 or 2 pulses in them, but no where near as heavy as the east coastal showers coming in..id expect by the time they leave the pennines expect some fragmentation, its whats following in behind the introductory band which is interesting very interesting
  4. tbh south liverpool and hale through to widness probably have about 10% chance of snow compared to the rest of the country..always pans out the same. Estuary and the pennines ruin our chances..estuary because we are too low down and because the estuary does seem to protect us a lot from real severe weather..and then the pennines and further north the hills around blackburn and stuff..so anything coming in needs to be on a trough or very strong winds...the winds here have completely died down..so i think the forecast for us on the estuary isnt a good one hence the 10% i think. it could all change come mid week, but id love to be wrong but years living here and all the snow events we have continuously missed while everyone got hit i think sums the above explanation up nicely we had another quick flurry..but its just about a mile or two to far north for it to have really hit us again they do appear to be pepping up a bit more off that east coast just checked the netweather radar, and there is a bigger band towards the pennines than what it is showing on the met radar, looks kind of interesting, just hope it doesnt defragment by the time it comes of the pennines. Maybe we are in a very rare event even down here by the estuary after all id like to think so, so i can get a day off work tomorrow lol
  5. bone dry here now, clear skies, and looking at the radar those showers have now become quite pathetic. ah well suppose tomorrow night will be the make or break. always nice to see the gfs give a 100% chance of snow, and really its less than 10% for you location lol
  6. I agree, sorry i was referring to the milder conditions of december, most places well above 100m missed out, so as you say very very marginal indeed lol
  7. you have had nothing? south liverpool is about 2 and a half miles to the west of us, and we have had heavy snow showers off and on from about 2ish this afternoon, there was a quiet lull for an hour or two, but we just had another snow shower..surprised you are getting nothing from it.
  8. I still think tomorrow will be the best of the heavier and more prolonged burst specifically tomorrow evening/night onwards, very much a case of little to no fragmentation but the the pennines which should be torn down haha will probably have the last say in matters i guess.
  9. thats coz i couldnt remember my main username lol, one minute we didnt have any of that snow you had, the next it just seemed to pep up and we had a shower..its stopped now tho
  10. finally, it's just started to snow again, quite big flakes mixed in with what looks like more or less pellets
  11. Current conditions, alto cloud cover around 25-30%, part hazy. It is currently dry with no precipitation, though the Humidity is slowly climbing once again. At around 330pm it was sitting at 47% humidity. Very little in the way of barometric movement. Its been sitting at around 30.00 Inches / 1015mb for much of this afternoon, which is very suprising since we have a band of new storms moving in a north easterly direction, heading slowly our way. These new storms seem to have spiked up around 8Pm ish of the welsh coast. Currently at Hale: Current Temp 22.8C Max Temp 27.3C Humidity 60% Barometer 30.00 in / 1016.3mb and steady Dew Point 14.7C Wind: NNW at 6 mph Wind: NW at 3.0 over 10 minute avg Rain today 0.0mm Rain ET 3.53MM Monthly Rain 2.5MM Wind Chill 22.8C THW Index 23C Solar Radiation: 26 W / M² Outlook for tonight for my area. We may see a little in the way of much needed rain, though I doubt this will be heavy or even prolonged. The associated front, seems to have pushed everthing much further east than was initially expected. Its likely in all honesty to be a cooler night, with little in the way of rain...though I hope not hehe
  12. I am reporting snow too..it started about 20 mins ago, and everywhere is now white..blowing a firece gale...i got accumulation of a quater inch. Regards NWS
  13. 4.3°C, dry but feels colder...i am hoping for some snow this morning at the very least after thas amazing bizaree weather...then agin after lunch it will prolly be 20°C...funny this..somehow cold front are meant to bring cold, not stay the same temps, the occluded front has now disappeard, which was there last night....seems cold fronts dont mean cold anymore...maybe this will change and we'll experience some now here in the NW
  14. Snowing here, started of heavy hail, turned to grainy snow, and heavy...sticking to everthing...best snowfall yet
