  1. its absolutely beautiful outside, without measuring it looks like we have about 3 or 4 cm already from this one burst its not stopped snowing now for about 1h 45 mins..so 4cm is pretty fantastic in that time. think someone said a while back the nw will stay in the cold sector all week..though of course that may well change..its the uk weather lol
  2. there was a change of direction, most didnt expect the upper cutting ne wind to change the direction of the snow, instead of it behaving and heading directly north and east, all its done is head directly north west. Not sure they could have known much about it really here. The good thing is everything from the south east is just feeding into the northwest in that northeasterly. As for carlisle umm if you look at the time lapse radar on nw there seems to be 2 things happening. we have a low forming in midlands which is twisting the snow to the west north west from the southeast, and if you look to the north east..ie towards north scotland it just looks like a regular easterly. I think you may catch a shower or too, but most of the action is down to your southwest in liverpool.
  3. i think you maybe getting what we are, and i think this snow is in now for a good couple of hours here in the west though i imagine it will get light at times
  4. what is hilarous is the bbc forecasters they still are not picking up whats actually happening..all the snow on east? which explains why it is sleet and rain extending from hull..and very heavy snow in locations around here
  5. who knows I am currently reading a barometer drop from 1010mb to 998mb and there is the problem over there now on the east coast, that warm sector is moving even faster than anticipated with sleep/rain thro hull and its extending quite far inland though i cant really see it effecting areas close to liverpool and north. you never know i think we will get snow off and on for the remainder of the night, coz i do think we will stay in that cold sector
  6. yes it is the main band, and to the east coast at hull the radar is showing sleet..i seriously doubt that must be a hiccup on the radar but things are still moving west
  7. it really is coming down now, that intense band as arrived
  8. looks like i was right, the snow from the south east is being moved more westwards through the forming low in the midlands and a pretty strong ne wind. I think we could be in for some heavy snow for a good few hours yet. That deep red band is about to hit us. Its quite interesting that south liverpool has light snow, yet around 2 to 3 miles east from there we have big flakes and still very heavy. Dont be surprised if that stuff heading north curls around and heads back towards us, thats exactly to some extent what has happened to that band that a lot of people thought would be too far east, its now sitting on the cheshire gap pratically and still heading west at a fair clip, there is a lot of intensity to it..though it is tending to fragment a bit..but nice to see it slide right into the northwest. I dont think it picks snow up too well on that radar..when ever i have been tracking snow, the intensity wasnt in the meto radar but was on the nw radar and borne out by seeing it happen outside lol
  9. coming down now more heavier than before  certain parts of liverpool to my west are reporting very heavy snow like conditions to the point of white outs..it doesnt surprise me..wait for this nice deep red band hits us
  10. wait til that lovely dark red band hits us, thats going to be extremely interesting lolol
  11. steve its just pelting it down here, very much the same as hail seizer..got quite a covering on the grass, pavement white roads almost white again after previous melt take a look at the nw radar a very intense and still intensifying band to our east moving straight towards us to the west that could produce something interesting..we havent seen anything as intensive as that here.
  12. just looking at post code zoom again there is a large blob of dark red heading our way and its still intensifying too..its just heading westwards..fingers crossed that smacks into us we could get a big snowfall from it
  13. looking at the radar there does seem to be quite a large bank of snow from the east coast all the way over to liverpool and its moving westwards..for how deep i dont know, but if that cloud can drop as much as it can..we could see substantial falls. seems that warm sector wont affect us as we should still remain in the cold sector but anything could happen.
  14. you could be right there however i think the low forming in the midlands and the easterly is actually forcing it further to the west towards us, even looking at that snow off the yorkshire coast does look like its starting to curl over..not saying it will, but there is quite a large band of organized snow to our south east still moving west..think it could give us a quite a substantial fall, as long as the low does not push it towards the ne as the cloud moving from the south east banks up against it on its eastern side..so far that does seem to be happening, however the easterly is sending it back our way the snow is now getting heavier and the flakes look like they are getting a little bigger, roof and wet pavement from melt earlier now covered/ i cant see this stopping for a long while yet, there is such a large bank of snow to our east moving this way
  15. just looking at the post code zoom, there is a very intense area of snow looks pretty substantial to me and it does look likes it moving directly west now
  16. I think this is more than a snow shower, its too organized. take a look at the radar and everything that is heading north is curling over and heading west towards us. We have the snow sticking quite nicely, and its pretty intense at times
  17. send that westwards to us too, not being greedy we havent had any decent snow in decades lolol snow still heavy here
  18. its also heavy here, like i said before that line from hull to liverpool and moving westwards..and its readily sticking now too. looks like a whole lot of snow coming our way
  19. we are about to be hit by the big band of snow to our east, quite a large area of snow moving generally in this direction once it seems to hit a line just as i type its starting to snow
  20. watch what happens, there is a very large blob of snow moving gradually up the north sea coast near north yorkshire, since everything is moving in from an easterly i can see that heading west towards us as well...but it will depend on the timing i think, we might get hit with the warm sector earlier than we might like. hope not though..but if we dont that could be a lot of snow for the northwest heading in from the north yorkshire coast
  21. as long as that warm sector doesnt hit us too soon, yes i can see it more than sticking draw a line from hull to liverpool and its snow all the way moving westwards..not only do we have the easterly helping us we also have that low forming in the midlands helping it too move more westwards too. I think the beeb have got it completely wrong
  22. there is a prolonged amount of snowing heading this way with intense bursts in with it..could be a good hour or two's worth here. a line from hull to liverpool moving westwards just one big area of snow
  23. o my post code zoom in on the radar that intense band of snow from the south is about 4 miles to my east and its showing up on time lapse its moving west towards me..this could be interesting. Seem to be in a lull now. But more on the way you'd think the bbc would make more upto date forecasts because there is a huge difference between what they are banging on about to what is really happening 0.o
