  1. hehehe quite telling http://www.metoffice.gov.uk/satpics/latest_uk_ir.html the outer clouds are almost here as sleet
  2. It must be an absolute nightmare to do a regional forecast for merseyside. I reckon the furthest this line is going to reach is likely north cheshire/extreme south merseyside. Hunts cross is probably in all likelyhood going to be it's furthest reach..and more to the east than the west..but i think this is still going to be all snow on its north side as long as it cools down..rural areas like hunts cross, speke and halewood, halebank and hale and places east no probs i think but anywhere surely cant be ruled out possibly away from the coast
  3. considering the most northern extent of this low is a rough line between liverpool and scarborough..and looking at that radar and then looking at the latest vis sat image..its outer arm is already reaching us but i need more detail on the low..its hard to see it for me lol
  4. ok first snapshot of today. How do you know where this system is going to end up? the models are wrong..get over it and wait and to see what happens later I know for certain quite a few people are going to be mighty surprised with this system. Yet instead all we hear is its gonna do nothing 0.o i know we have had a bad bloody winter but come on use your loaves go check out the models and do other stuff productively instead of making proclamations of it isnt..you should move to the south..no wonder it never snows here come on be more positive lets just see we have sleet just to our south and thats just about 25 odd miles south of the region...the system hasnt reached the channel yet..you cannot tell me with a system that big it outer edge wont reach here..more so has the colder conditions hit us and bingo we have either rain or snow..i dont mind because i believe we will see more than a dusting from this ..if we dont..there will be other chances but today it will get :
  5. hahaha actually i think your town's team need big sam back at least he had em playing something lol errm the met have upgraded to flash warning of snow for merseyside and north? do they have no idea its already moved further east or north? lolol http://www.metoffice.gov.uk/weather/uk/nw/...t_warnings.html
  6. hope the rain doesnt arrive for you, its turned to light rain here, think it may stop pretty soon i hope, then temps can get down properly..hope that its better than the woeful -2c attempt last night..thought it might really drop down to -8 or something. snowmad you there mate?
  7. but arent you in the northampton? last time i checked that place was south east midlands anyone have an update on the lp for tomorrow?
  8. tbh no matter where that comes in you are going to be because of your location, that lp is higher placed than it originally was. anyways 16 inches of snow..rub it in why dont ya but then you can have our rain for the next 10 years thank you very much umm why are snow reporting in the nw thread if your in the south of the midlands?
  9. it will be pure rain soon..your only a couple of miles away across the bridge but luckily for us we will be far enough south i should hope for that system to come in and swamp us tomorrow evening, i should think a little later we will get down to freezing and hopefully it will stay that way throughout the daylight hours tomorrow..be about time we got some snow..and more than 5inches of it too..it wouldnt make up for the entire region who have had their fair share lmao
  10. i suspect this rain will happily spread to the entire region in the next couple of hours..it shouldnt be raining but its like a bloody monsoon out there! looking forward to tomorrow tbh when only south merseyside gets blizzards and 10 foot snow drifts as if
  11. lets hope its just the south of the region to spite them, they have had their share hahaha saying that get ready for autumn rain and high winds..<yawn> its now raining and its not light rain either.
  12. i must look out my window because you are less than several miles from me lol
  13. south merseyside? it barely had a dusting 0.o all week long lol, if anything this area is due a major dumping at low levels ..though you can have some too haha thats because the front split up last night with the heavier of the precip heading further south than was initially thought, ie mid wales and central england..it also didnt help the fact the band stalled several times through out the day which has helped it turn to heavier precip and i think kept it more organised inland..but yes i agree it stinks..but keep the faith we will get something tomorrow!
  14. looks quite pathetic really..shame the rest of the country got more of that cloud the problem is the front came in and split last night and moved way faster than first thought, part of the front heading south east and the other front heading north east..which i believe tore the potential system apart and why we saw this turn into nothing then it seemed to stall right over ireland for a while, then again in the irish sea..thinking now about it, it was always going to defragment after it. typical we all the right set up and the snow buggers off and probably gived a coating to everyone who already had that before lol, well good luck to them, coz i think thats it for tonight, maybe a passing shower or two..or short of a polar low forming i think its all eys to tomorrow and keep watching the charts and believing..coz i think we might just yet get some thing out of this
  15. according to precip type radar no maybe a passing shower or two, shame the front split last night, now that would have been a real dumping
  16. to be honest there is hardly any difference at all to those figures maybe 1C warmer
  17. umm only one problem for which areas are you talking about altitude 1in min and 1cm for lowland areas? do you mean to the east of the region since this is moving east? thought the wind direction was going to change to a more southerly? then push up some of the remaining snow through the region oh well James, the temps here have remained constant since it started to snow here in rural out skirts of liverpool (about 12 miles away) ofc that was a quick heavy burst..and its remained about 0.7C since maybe just after 3PM. Not sure where this warm sector is? its set to drop below freezing here in a couple hours
  18. latest precip type nw radar how strange anyone watching N24 weather forecast? they have that snowband about half an inch further north..at this rate by midnight it will be right on top of us (for tomorrow that is )
  19. the problem with the radar is that it keeps showing holes where no holes exist coz in the next update there is plenty of light err hesitant to call it snow. keep the faith, the ecm keep moving the low further north..there is always a slight glimmer of hope..we have been so let down in this winter, that its hard to see anything falling..the measily amounts we have had are a laughing joke no one finds funny..but this is the UK weather where the craziest things go on with the weather and i believe in the law of averages we are owed a good dumping...last time we had more than 3 inches was in 1982 0.o and the sarf accuse us of having more snow..and id bet across the west of the region it isnt really that much better..i mean 3-5 inches is pathetic..and i think soon very soon we are going to get a hammering, like i wont write tomorrow off, they cant even get the tracks right, what makes the meto think they have this right? they didnt get last thursday right and they are truly hopeless for western areas of the north west..if its going to snow, it rains if its going to be nice it will rain you get the idea we own the copyright and trademark on rain here
  20. still bits and pieces out there..but what i find odd is all the light snow that doesnt exist..it isnt raining here its still cold but not a thing apart from 1 or 2 flakes..lol in about 15000 years we will have inch at that rate
  21. I am not giving up, temps are going to drop off as night falls, here its still 1C behind that snow band and the dew point is 0C odd one or two flakes falling. I think we need to either look to the west again..i still think we have some more surprises ahead tonight, well anyways for merseyside that is..thats according to BBC N24 who are still sure we will have periods of snow who for the past hour or two have been lamenting this fact. I know they give some major clangers in forecasts, but at close range they are pretty good..last thursday excepted but in the main they usually are right and if they are wrong about this..why keep the same forecast ?
